Coromuel are seasonal SSW winds that blow across the Baja peninsula at La Paz.

I believe the winds are named for the Lord Protectorate of England, who issued letters of marque to the pirates that used the winds to make their escape after raids.

Ah right, I've seen the Coromuel in the game many times, she's also available as a playable ship in Virtual Sailor, never thought to actually to some re-search on the subject, nice to understand a bit more about her.

To be correct, this ferry was built in Papenburg in 1973 as one of the famous Papenburg-Sisters. She's now serving a domestic route in Mexico as "Cozumel II" for the operator Chan Kenab. Seems to be their/his only ferry... ;)

The sister ship "Coromuel" is now/still on duty for Baja Ferries as "Sinaloa Star"... ;)

Regards

Hello guys.. i believe Coromuel is in some scrap yard at India .. not as Cozumel II cozumel II was a ferry that hit a reef in 2006 hurricane Wilma

Hi guys,

I thought she still sailed as "Sinaloa Star" for Baja Ferries, to which she was sold in 2004 I think.. maybe 2005.

Could be that she's not used anymore, it was a while ago when I last read about that.

Hmm, the "holy bible" of ferries, the Guide 2008 from ShipPax still has the "Sinaloa Star" listed with the IMO code 7324833.. ???

Getting on a bit, 1973, quite an age!

Always a shame to see ships go :( But we can't keep everything, can we :'(
