Title: Help
Post by: mpevans on January 26, 2009, 20:14:38
Hi, I've just upgraded from V1.* to V1.4.2 using the upgrade patch. Now when I use precision steering, the rudder 1&2 reset key "numpad" decimal does not work.  Any suggestions or advice?

Just go to the main menu and then to the controls setting. You can re-map the keys from there.

Any other help ??

Cheers,

Shane

I believe the default key to reset the rudder is R Ctrl

I believe the default key to reset the rudder is R Ctrl

It depends upon the ship. It's Num period for OS, but Right Ctrl for some others.

Not all ships have their controls assigned according to the names on the list.
It's easier to run with precision steering off.

Hello,
I had the same problem last year with the rudder reset, apparently due to a "foreign" exotic keyboard layout, after having applied the 1.4.2. patch.
The solution was to simply replace the file Do_ShipControls.cgr in the folder  .\ShipSim2008\Actors\Controls by a new one. It is a good idea to rename the old file instead of deleting it, but anyway it works fine on my system with a Belgian Azerty and on some German Qwertz.
Regards,
Luc
Edit: Forgot the dot cgr...
