Hi guys,
I've got lots of stuff on my computer, Sketchup files, Games, software etc. I just wanted to know, and I'm sorry if there is an obivious answer to this, how can I tell how much space I have left?
I have my DXDIAG here if it helps any?
Thanks very much for the help in advance!
Jack :)

If I'm not missing something you just go to computer and right click the hard disk and select properties.

Hi Jack.
Looking at your DxDiag, you have 1022MB disk space left. But, as you constantly save pictures and download lovely sketchup models ;D it will change. So lets say it is AROUND 1022MB.
You have XP! Great! Because I can help you with how to find stuff.
Go to My Computer and right click on your C: Drive. It should be the first on the file and it should have (C:) after its nameThis is your default hard drive. The name itself changes I am afraid. But mine is PRESARIO. Anyway, when you have right clicked on it, click properties, thats at the bottem of the list. Below, you will see How much free space and how much used space you have along with a pie chart. On mine, the pink space is the empty space and the blue is used space.
Now excuse me. I am browsing your Dxdiag for possible ways of taking control of your computer. LOL jk, jk. ;D There is nothing on your Dxdiag which is secret.
PS: Not a stupid question at all. I am glad you asked. I need to make some use of myself rather then being a massive blob of nothing bearing the sign: OBSTACLE, PLEASE AVOID on it.

Hi Jack.
( I MUST stop saying that! I'm flying to Rotterdam on Monday. It will cause lots of trouble if I say it on the way)
You have oodles of spare capacity at the moment. But as Mr Gloat says, it can change wuite rapidly if you download lots of pictures.
To keep an eye on it, the quick way is to run DXdiag and save the report. Open it and search for the wrd "Drives". You'll come to the following section (as indicated by J3nsen), where the line I've highlighted is the one you're after:

Ah right! I see! Thanks for the help! ;D
Now I understand :) I was worried with so much stuff on (well quite an old computer-2005) that I didn't know how much more it would take.
I always wonder with my computer, it seems to defeat the laws of physics with everything ??? :D
For example, ShipAddict has a way better system than me, yet he can't run Dom's SS France ??? Whereas I've tested, and I can run two and a bit! With smooth gameplay too! I always wonder how it does it, Does anyone have an explanation for this? or does my computer's specs go through the roof somewhere else? ??? :-[ :D
Sorry, I'm just wondering about my computer, now I'm wondering whether I should get a new one or not, since, ShipAddict got a new one, yet he can't run SS France or anything like that?
Thanks for the help with how much space I have left, now I can stop worrying and keep track of it ;D
Thanks for the help!
Jack
p.s. I do a lot of photography, usually the picture's average out at around 2MB and a bit each, so I think I may have to watch that.

When you've taken another fifty-five thousand photos, you'll be out of space.
-
Hi.
That is wiered. To answer that, I need both your [updated] DxDiags and the minimum specs of running the SS France.
Sorry.
-
Not in this area, though.
Thanks.
Send them by PM.
-
Why?
-
Mabye cause this topic is for his space... And Dom's SS France is for Virtual Sailor, not for ship sim. If he want Technical help, can he join the Hangsim forum for help.

may be true...

I'm guessing that was in that Englishman's mind.
