Welcome to the Earth! ;)
It's a very common problem all game and software developers have to deal with today - piracy! ::)
-
do you mean that they putt their cd-keys on several websites?
like Reference to site removed ect.

The true fans of Ship Sim will buy the game anyway i think.
And the price of SS08 is still better then the high price Microsoft charges for the new FS >:(

They will win! They dosen't do something wrong, it the peopel ho use too upload to Piratebay! :P So the police have to areest million peopels!
But, when they don't buy this game, will the serial already bee in use, so they can't play it on net (Online) when the multiplayer come's! And mabye Vstep making a program ona patch ho find out if the game is false! :) Like you had to put in your CD to instal it! Or something :P heeh, but it will always be a man ho craking or find out to game all games for free! :(
Bad english, sry! ;D

Solutions maybe... ;)
In the future we all need to connect to massive servers to play the games or use the software since any file used by a game or an application can be copied unlimited times and shared. So this will require some massive broadband connections with gigabytes per seconds. This is probably one way to do it.
Another way is to use some other type of verification like verifying the installation online, just the way Microsoft does with all kinds of products they make. The last option is to verify the installation by inserting some kind of device into the USB port to verify the installation and to make sure that this is a valid copy of the software/game.
Still the serial key is very powerful solution but people with high education in programming can even turn into hackers someday and use their knowledge to break another solution made to prevent software/games from being cracked. :)
It’s great that VSTEP publish demo versions of Ship Simulator sometimes since people can try it. Some software/game publishers don’t give out a demo version at all.

You know much! <3 hehe

No I'm just saying, can't there be a patch where it blocks certain keys. Like I went on aload of warez sites and all of the keys posted were the same, so there can't be many keys out.
