Hello @ all!!
I'm sure I'm not alone with this wish... the "Pride of Rotterdam" and also the port of Rotterdam is quite amazing and makes it really realistic to simulate a wonderful ferry-cruise over the North Sea. But something is missing... the port of Hull where the real ferry is cruising to. Is it so much difficult to add this port to the actual Ship Simulator 2008? It musn't be detailed as Rotterdam, but at least the terminal of P&O should be there to have a destination for the journey.
Please tell me if there is anybody else with a wish like this and maybe it we be implemented in the near future if the interest is great enough.

What, so you mean you do a cruise to hull then all thats there is nothingness or land? Well, as you stated, I dont know if the support would be great enough- I think the Solent should be our first priority of scenery add-ons, but this would be a nice idea. Hull isnt' the most aesthetically pleasing dock in the world, so I think more votes would go to improving bugs.

Not really. I would quite like to see the port of Hull as well. It may not be aesthetically pleasing, but it would make the simulator more realistic. Also, the port of Zebrugge, in belgium should be added, as the port of Zebrugge is another port that is related to Hull. because of the P&O ferry service from there.

I entirly support you in this, but I think Vstep should release the bug fixes first though before additional scenery. Hope hull gets a look-into! :)

I have to agree with you, I too missed not being able to finish the crossing by going to Hull. I dont know how long this takes but it would have been nice to complete the trip.

Hull is a very small harbour/port. It wouldn't be so hard to make, maybe one or two full days of creating, and then more for programming.
-
I think it takes a little longer than that... even for a small port.

Agree, I would love Hull, it maybe takes some time, but the harbor itself isnt extreme large :) So it will not be a job as large as solent/SF, it's only a little bit harbor, rest is residence.

If I remember rightly from somewhere I read it has a very narrow channel for large ships and that there is a big problem with shifting sand banks on the approach.
I think it would make an interesting port alright!

Stuart is right-its hell up there. Ive been there several times. However, I was looking at the missions in my demo version and noticed the mission you are all talking about- I would now like to voice my support- I mean, I know its hard work and the real-life dock isn't exactly the best in the world :(, but if theres going to be a later patch, then, why not? :)
Thanks, Sky.

I agree . . . . .

I agree with the hull port addon, but as iv mentioned in another post (on a different thread) would it not make sense to include the whole Humber area taking in Spurn Point, Grimsby Docks, Immingham Dock then going up to Hull...I live in that area and as such it would be amazing to pilot any vessel up the Humber

Why not just the port of hull itself???

I think when making suggestions that the more of a particular area is asked for then the less likely it is to be made in the future- the amount of work needed to make the whole Humber?
BUT if you think it still a good idea when you think of all the work and could show how it would be a big assett (ie what missions could take place to REALLY use the location) then post some detail here.
Remember that with the dozens of 'Vstep should make XXXX harbour' if you want a particular area you should try and make your suggestion stand out.

My point is, that Hull is further down the River Humber and as such it would be more realistic to have the 2 ports before it in the game. Other reasons for inclusion are that they have a lot of shipping from the area to Bergen, so would make it interesting to include such a mission..would also be pretty good to celebrate Grimsby's Fishing history with a fishing mission to North Sea areas....maybe im just after putting Grimsby on the map for good reason (for a change).

I sometimes use the Stranraer/ Belfast and Cairnryan/Larne ferries and think that this would (sometime in the future) make an interesting area, being relatively compact and subject to some very changeable weather as well as having the variety of Loch Ryan and Belfast Lough to negotiate. Is it true, however, that Stranraer terminal is being moved to an enlarged Cairnryan in the near future? Anybody know?
