Hi all, I was just wondering, do you think SS2010 will have add on ships like Jumbo javelin, Elbe, Furie and NH ships like Ocean Star etc as standard in the game?
Thanks and regards, RMSGB

I think the only ones that can answer your question, are either unable or unwilling (or both) to answer that question at this point. ;D
:P

Yeah good point. I guess we will have to wait and see....
-
Yep we do.. well.. you at least. ;D
;)

Yes, at least me....
I like your new avatar by the way Fred. :)

Cheers, mate! ;D

Yeah I saw them in the trailer so I assume they will be there. Theoretically.

i'm scepticle about that though, i think they're simply using those ships in the video, the actual tease in the video is the new ship surrounded by ice bergs, and i found out what it is ;D That ship is Greenpeace's newest and biggest ship called the M.V Esperanza (Spanish for “hopeâ€), looks like a very nice ship ;D and i'd be proud to sail her, oo just thinking of all the mission possibilites is cool :D
-
It's too early to tell what will actually be in SS2010. There are lots of good intentions, but programming issues may get in the way, even at the very last moments.
Have to wait and see..

I was reading the comments of the videos of Pjotr, and his answer to the question of wave height in SS10 is 14 meters, what you get in 12 bft
OH, BOY! ;D
-
14m? :o, that's gonna get funny
-
Yeah, it seems that they are going to include SS Pro 2.0's wave spectra, just dumbed down for low-spec PCs.
I can hardlt wait! ;D
It really WILL be EXTREME! ;D
-
What trailers?
It's either I get a new computer next year, or I am not longer a costomer :-\ :'(.
-
What trailers?
What A|A meant by “trailer†was the teaser video in Frank_VSTEP’s post in FAQ & Announcements—before his Christmas card.
Fourteen meters is also the current max wave in Pro.
Pro is scheduled for release on 27 January, ’09. In order to provide a real reason to gripe if they are late, they have invited beta testers to fly to Rotterdam for the party. Eating a round-trip reservation from Oregon might just try my patience.
Incidentally, Pro uses QuestViewer. So, it can’t be all that bad. I don’t see why they would go to the expense of a new engine for SS 2010.
-
To be honest, I'd expect our favourite ships to make it into the next game (even if they're a bit late, ala 2006>2008 free add-ons). Amazing trailer by the way, I can't wait!

Yes, thank you Marty, right after my post I looked at the holiday announcement :). The only thing that really exited me was the artic tug with the rainbow. Pretty cool ;).

That isn't a tug.
It is a former fire fighting vessel but now it is owned by greenpeace.
If you know a little bit of ships, and if you look at the stern. You know it isn't a tug. ;)
-
Well, I didn't know. And I really don't know much about ships :P. It looked like a small icebreaker or a tug of some sort.
-
It is, it's a heavy ice class vessel, it can operate as such.
It used to be a firefighter indeed, with the Russian Navy.
There's webcams on her too, might be nice to check out. ;D
