I miss that to, but vermasse are fantastic replenishment do, easy to handle and good to maneuver, as i sad earlier, the luxurious yacht hope it will come back in the next version

I really would like to see 1 or 2 inland freighters.
Just like the ones in ss2006 or maybe more detailed.
If those ships wil be added, dynamics really need to be changed biceaus the rudder was verry unrealistic in ss2006.
-
Let's bring them back guys. We want to use them with the new features and enviornments we have.
-
I also miss the beautiful yacht. I think it's easy to VSTEP to add, in the next version, the guys in the helms, since there were in SS2006.

The problem with the "Guys in the helms" is that, If they look too unrealistic, I think it would take away the top quality standards V-STEP have for the SS Simulation. And, I personally can't see these SS06 Vessel's coming back in the future, because, V-STEP are moving forward with new vessels and new, better graphics. For example, SS09 will be coming soon, and I personally think putting any SS06 vessels into it would be quite dissapointing for other users. Because maybe they would be expecting new vessels.
Thats my opinion anyway. But I can understand where some of you guys are coming from!
Jack :)

Yep im totaly agreed with IrishJack there ;)
-
they should add pirate ships ;D

Im not, like Titanic, they retextured and added more details to make it like SS08 grafic, that can they do with the other ships too =)

we have different meaning.
im keen of see new ships they make.
i dont want to get the old in a new ss game.
-
and who can forget the ss06 Titanic smoke?
-
yea i miss the big yacht and the inland container ship but now we've got SS09 to think and wonder about ;D
-
haha :D They can make a new container ship that is smaller than Vermaas, it will bee more funny too manover in waves and things like that, Vermaas don't feel the waves, just sailt trought them!
-
Yeah, I miss the SS06 ships, too. Titanic was more realistic than the SS08 version.

Titanic (from what I understand from your post, your talking about the SS06 version) was more realistic than the SS08 version? I don't understand how that can be correct, what is better about the SS06 version? (just interested to see why, not trying to be funny here)
Jack.

First of all, the funnels pours out more smoke than in SS08. Second, the colors of the ship seem darker than in SS06. And third, well...that's all I can think of at the moment.

But, the smoke may not have been as dark once the boilers started functioning, a bit like a solid fuel burner, on the start of burning, smoke comes out, but then, once its settled, less smoke is produced. The wood on the decks is a lot more accurate on the SS08 version (from what I understand) as the SS06 decks are very bright.
Thats my opinion anyway, someone who knows more about this should comment on this one, as I'm not 100% sure.

True that the wooden decks of the SS08 Titanic is more realistic, but I still think the SS06 version is better.

Then I wonder why the creator, a very knowledgable and respected chap in the whole 'Titanic scene', took so much time to make it worse, while it was allready so good... ::)
;D ;)
The SS08 is better, more realistic and more detailed in lots of ways. Wether one likes one or the other better, that's another story. But The SS08 model is an improvement for sure.

Exactly what I thought, Fred. Although, everyone does have their own opinion. Like you said, Whether one like's one or the other better, is an opinion :)
Jack.

my opinion is that the SS08 one is better, except for the modern throttle :P but the SS08 even has some interior done, so in my opinion the 08 is better.

I may run it through with the TRMA, where Jason got his research support from, and ask the experts which things SS06 got right in comparison to SS08.
I already have a few SS06 Titanic pics!

Got it!
Darker deck would is better
The lighter railing color is better
And now....
The answer you all wanted for so long...
How
much
smoke?
highlight:
According to Bruce Beveridge, maker of almost every, if not, every, set of the most accurate plans of the RMS Titanic currently in print, when asked via a forum post on the TRMA website, the game with the most accurate amount of smoke is...
Ship Simulator 2006!

Dark/Light/color wise, you can't really tell too much since photography wasn't 'all that' back then. You cannot even be sure to what extend certain photo's have been touched by 'the hand of time' allready to show distorted colors/brightness and such, before they became part of history. The quality wasn't all that either, back then. Unless you have real life, true color examples to match 100%, you'll find subtle difference between all those black and white shots anyway, at leat that I can see. And things like color codes from records from shipyards in those days.. well, not the most reliable source I would say. It's not like they handled their data like companies do today, and they surely didn't nitpick about very specific colors to use, really (not for the trivial stuff anyway). That was far less important to them than it is now to the 'buffs', trust me. So most of all the speculation (for lack of a better word) is based on assumptions, really... and perhaps most of these things will never be 100% clear, since she's been rusting away for a while now.
But again, if the experts say the SS06 one is better, then I wonder why Jason - who you say works closely with the people on the TRMA forum, from where you get the facts for these statements - has made the newer model less 'realistic'. Wouldn't those experts have told him that he was doing the wrong thing when he posted his progress reports on the forum there? I would still think he would make it better, not less good, specially since he's a Titanic buff himself too. But maybe I am wrong of course. ;D
Smoke.. well.. less is better, so the experts say, as far as running the machinery goes, and if you look at old steamship photo's, it can go both ways to be honest. Some ships are spewing out massive clouds of black smoke, some only show the slightest hint of light grey puffs.. Not that I care a lot about smoke. Mere cosmetics really. But to each his own, obviously. It's not a constant at all, I would think. When run properly she'd probably had not made as much smoke as you'd think. But I'm no expert. I'd say on one day, SS06 could be right, but on another - better day - the SS08 ammount could be just as right too. ;D
Sorry about the long post.. I just had to give you my 2 cents in full, since I was waiting oh so long for this answer allready.. hehe :P
