Hi all, I was just flicking through some old paint pictures, when I cam across these 3 that I did about 5 months ago. Take a look and tell me what you think.
They are all based on the early 20th century era. The first one is 600ft long, with no particular name.
-
Then theres this, the Voyagerica, Kind of pre war time, its 1000ft long
-
My final one was this, based on the 1930s era but 1200ft long and ridiculously tall, its called the Britannica:
-
they are all great for paint ;D now try to make em on a 3d pogramm
-
Good detail!
-
Have you made that on PAINT! Oh god, that's totally AMAZING! You've got some talent there ;)
-
Wow, Neat Hobby.
I know from working on the Iron Flounder how much fun it is to design a ship from scratch. ;)
Great work.
-
How about trying to make it in sketchup?
-
Thanks for all the comments guys. The reason that I havent done them in 3d is because I dont know what the best program is, Can you advise me. I preferbly need something free aswell. I have downloaded Google sketchup, but I must of got the downloading wrong because it dosn't work. i think I will try again when I have the time.
-
I use Google Sketchup and am happy with it, but opinions vary :)

Well Its not that I dont like it, Its that I cant get it to work.
-
Gmax :D
-
Gmax :D
Sketchup seems better for a paint file than Gmax.
-
id start of with sketchup then move to Gmax.
Unless you are a potential genius and want to star of with 3d max ;D
-
Well thanks all but Im not planning on starting any 3d projects yet. However It is a strong possibility in the future.
-
Well good news everyone...I am starting a new paint project in 2D, that in the future, maybe in a year or so, I will make in a 3D program, but for the moment my ship will be 2D. It will be an ocean liner for the 21st century like no other which will be appropiatly named: RMS Great Britain
-
Ok, here is the hull of my current project. There is little detail, and I am still yet to include windows, balconies, stablisers, bow thrusters or my azipod prepulsion system. So this is just the first stage. I know you will either think this is stupid or superb, but the ship is 2600ft long. I know, thats a lot, and its unrealistic, but its not actually real so I can use my imagination. zoom in for a good look.
-
What kind of stuff are you planning on putting on it? I have a pretty cool idea for a funnel, if you want to see it I can post it here when i'm done with it and If you like it I'll e-mail it to you.
-
Well thanks, if its no trouble id love to see your funnel mr flappy, thanks. By the way I plan to make the ship have 3 decks of balconies in the hull, and 5 decks in the superstructure. I plan on having 2 funnels, with the whole ship being inspired by poseidon, but much larger and with my own features that you will see later on in the design.
-
Okay if you could tell me how too attach it I would be glad to put it on here ;)
Also, just out of curiosity, were you thinking of using aso-pods or regular propellers as far as prpulsion goes?
-
Okay if you could tell me how too attach it I would be glad to put it on here ;)
Ok, when posting your reply, click on additional options and next to the attach box click browse. here you can browse your folders and so you should be able to find your picture from wherever you saved it. open it and just click post.
-
It says that the attachment is to large ???
-
Really, what type of file is it?
PS. sorry I took so long to reply, I kinda got busy and had to do stuff, sorry
-
it's ok
To answer your question it's a paint file
-
A paint file thats too big for the attachment, thats weird. I would suggest trying again
-
Those are some nice ships.
-
Tryed it three times. my computers retarded :P
-
Hmmm, I just dont know what you could do....Ill have a think
-
Yeah me too
