will vstep and the people at shipsim like forget about ss08 like they did with ss06 when ss08 came out and stop with the patches and stuff

Eventually, yes. But that's normal and every software developer will seize development of an older version of their program.
They might not 'drop it' right away when SS09 is out, but they will at one point. As long as the game is for sale, they will probably adress serious issues and/or bugs, but new content will most likely not be developed.

wait but will there be a update reaching 2.0 or will it stop at 1.8 like ss06
and i better plan on getting ss09

And SS09 isn't here yet, obviously, that's going to take a while yet... And the shipyard might become a place for both SS08 and later on SS09 addon vessels, who knows.

As for your remark, bbydino05, it probably won't reach 2.0, but that's no important anyway, that's just a number. It can be any number, really. When all major bugs are fixed then further development will just seize and no more patches will be made. It's how it always goes, regardless of what version number is/was reached.
