I just bought SS2008 last night and installed it on my Macbook Pro...I run XP in a boot camp partition, using VMWare Fusion v2.0.
Seems to work OK, although it's the first time I've used SS so I can't compare with anything as I don't know what it should be doing!
There are just 2 issues I have at the moment...(1) the compass rose in the info panel flashes on and off constantly (maybe it's supposed to, in which case it isn't a problem!) and the right click mouse movements for panning are almost uncontrollable (I mean very very fast, and a minute movement of the mouse gives a huge movement in the view)...I'm still playing with the mouse settings to try to sort this out.
Later I'm going to boot my Mac into XP instead of running through vmware, and see if it's better.

Well there is a 100% FREE solution available. It is called Darwine. It uses X11 to run the .exe files (Which Ship Simulator Uses) and open it in a window. This advantage can also increase the speed of the application.
I may be posting on a topic that is over 4 months old, but the thing is is that the Code of Conduct states that I CANNOT create multiple topics on the same thing.
Here is the link if you want it. http://www.kronenberg.org/darwine/ (http://www.kronenberg.org/darwine/)

Thanks for your input Bonanza23d,
And no worries, as long as people have a valid contribution to make to a topic, it doesn't really matter that it's an older one.

well. Parallels is a lot better then VMWare. There has been bad reports about VMWare.
