Dam :(

That'll be in SS09 I bet
-
Hope soo! ::)
-
Hi guys.
As explained by VSTEP, this is not the new wave system for SS09.
It's purely made for SS08 Pro, and is not related to the game version.
Regards,
Fred

Wow that's so nice, it would be good if they put an update like that in the shipyard
-
Well, even if it was possible to make such severe changes to the SS08 game with an update in the shipyard, most of us would never be able to run it. It requires much higher specs. :)
-
Didn't think of that, it would be no chance to run it on my computer, you have any idea how good a computer should be to run that?
-
Nope I have no idea what would be needed, but a top end pc I would reckon.
-
I would run it, but they could make one SS08 Pro Lite verson for private gamers =)
-
They allready did, it's called Ship Simulator 2008. ;)
-
Then I could say to people that I'm a proud owner of SS08 pro lite
-
It makes me drool that does :P :-X
-
Maybe if they released a demo of it, and saw how many normal pcs could run it and how good the feedback was, maybe they would put it in ss09. But if it really is processor hungry then I spose it's best left to the experts
-

Hehe, SS08 Pro Lite, same as pro, but it just the grafic and advance weather system on it, incl NH and all patch.
:P
-
wow much much nicer, i hope they develope a system like that or similar for SS09 ::)
-

:P
That would defeat the whole purpose of having a professional version alongside the gamers version. We'll get advanced weather, graphics and ocean in the next game too. If they would meet halfway, it would still be very expensive, too expensive for most people here, which would mean they don't sell many, which would mean they cannot justify spending money, time and resources on developing such a lite version. I don't think that idea is feasable at all. :D
-
jeje, just a idea! ;D
-
I have to confess. I am seriously looking at the Pro version....
-
Hehe, it cost 2000euro... ::)
-
Hehe, it cost 2000euro... ::)
Maybe they could have a DEMO of the pro version so that us non-pro-ers Would have the waves worth drooling over. And WOW. Those waves are SO REALISTIC. WOW. Also, Some of them look HUGE. I wish i HAD THOSE!!!
-
Hehe, it cost 2000euro... ::)
I know. But I am very tempted.
-
I changed the titel, sice every one making a new one :P
I know. But I am very tempted.
U can send a lincens too me if u buy it ::) haha :P

Pjotr’s post made it clear that the system requirements for SSPro exceed those for SS 2008 and probably those for ‘09/10. I doubt that a demo that would run on less capable systems would actually demonstrate anything.
-
Hi Marty.
Absolutely agreed. I have some fairly top-end equipment here, and it might prompt me to get the soldering iron out again and do what I have been nagging myself to do for years, i.e. actually use my skills to build some tecchie stuff to add on to it.
Or maybe it's a pipe dream....

It's not made for the 'normal' players, as said before, it's a professional version, for professionals. Educational institutions, or companies. They have a bit more to spend. ;)

Yep.
SS 08 Isnt Meaned for Private use.
Its Exempel For Statoil(a norwegian OilProducent)
They might need it for train other people to learn to use ships to pick up oil and sail it to Norway.
But if you are a rich and have a big house.
you can buy it ;D

See the VStep Press Release out about this today
-
Heres what i think Of 08 Pro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgaBEg4swyk But instead of Breadsticks, She would be saying ShipSIm08Pro.
-
Well, a ship-sim is all about water isn't it? So i guess it would be great to have a little more realistic waves in SS2010. Maby an inbetween of the pro version and the one implemented in ss2008? I don't need too fancy of landscape, even if it's really nice, but i also like to have real looking oceans out there. So I really hope V-Step made a little progress there. And, it would be cheaper to have the same engine in pro and the game version, because you don't have to developt to seperate engines then. If i see the oceans coming out of my maya unlimited, they look very real and could be calculated very fast, maby it's possible to bring in something like that in the game...
Hope there will be some detailinformatinos about SS2010 soon. That quick shot of the sherpa in the storm looks like they've done something to the waves, but it was not long enough to proof that.
