I was wondering if I can buy and download Ship Simulator online, without having to sign-up for a yearly contract?
Thanks for any help.

Hello Trek and welcome to the forum! Yearly contract? I don't know what your talking about. where did you get this idea?
-
I found a coulpe of websites where I could download it, but the site said, I had to sign-up for a yearly contract, it was $2.45 a month x 12. All I want to do is buy it online, so I can download it, without having to wait on UPS/Fedx/ USPS.

Oh, just go to the main website (www.shipsim.com) and click add to cart near ship simulator 2008 and then find Check out cart. Or somthing. you also might have to do an email thing. any more problems let me know.

Firestar12, thanks for the forum welcome. I finally got it downloading. It wasn't easy, before I made this thread, I had already did the email thing. I had to register, confirm it via email, go back to the site and find the download option, which was my shopping cart. I had to change my password to protect my creditcard, WOW. It was harder then I thought it would be. I bought and downloaded other sims online and wasn't nearly this confusing. I'm happy now, it's downloading!! ;)
I have a couple more questions why I'm at it. If I lose the sim on my pc for whatever reason, could I go back to the website and re-download it with my license key? What is the 1st patch that I will need? What may I need to participate online play?
Thanks, you been great help!!! :)

Yes if your computer ***** out you can go back to "My Orders" and re-download it. First patch will be the 1.x > 1.4.2 And that will be the only patch you need. :)
For multiplayer you just need to register your license key in your forum "Profile" and then make a profile in the game and "Allow Internet Access"

Thanks for the help everybody. When I launched the game it said version 1.4.2 I also activated the multiplayer option and did a few of the missions.
How can I get the huge rolling waves going, I tried some of the settings and no luck. Also, I did 1 of the missions and couldn't get the crane to work. The crane would move left and right, but couldn't attach the magnet, or make the magnet go up or down to load cargo boxes. Any help?
Thanks...

for waves go to free roam then weather and at the bottom is the settings for waves.

Perhaps he modified the folders....
Captain.Bluebeard, thanks for that link, it really made a difference, especially the reflections of trees and bridges. Sweet!!

MY pleasure, about that video with the Waves, thats has been modified and not aloud to do, if you do so, the warranty will be destroyed and the game you will not get now support, and it's not real eider :)
4 m waves are enough i think

Hi Terry, I'm sorry if I made this thread in the wrong section, I'm new.
Thanks

No problem.
If you post in Technical Suport, you'll have the benefit of all of those tecchies over there. They're a sad bunch of people, but some of them know which end of a PC is the end to stick a CD in. Well, maybe not some of the moderators, though. And be careful of that Russell. He doesn't have a clue ;D)
