Title: Elbe's Dissapearing Steering Wheel
Post by: UrbanCaveCaptain on September 11, 2008, 07:18:29
She's a beatiful ship but I just wanted to find out if anyone else is having this problem.

In "walk" mode the deck wheels are visible...

but in both orbit (external) views the wheels are missing! The posts that hold them are there but no wheels. ???

Hi There,

This is the case with all SS Ships, as far as I know, not just the Elbe, you never know, V-step might fix this, but i don't think its a big issue really, in my mind.

it was removed in 1.3 due to multiplayer and the animations.

Jack is correct: Wheels are not shown in external views except on Titanic, where both the maneuvering and docking wheels are shown and animated. Both of Titanic’s wheels can be turned with the mouse in external view.

This is not a bug. As A|A said, the wheels are there, and animated, but that layer is simply not drawn in external view for performance reasons.

This isn’t an issue, in particular when it comes to game play. It's strictly an aesthetic thing. I just bought a Spambot new ship and was admiring it. I haven't noticed this on other ships. I guess the missing wheels on the big open decks are hard to miss.

Thanks for the input guys. :)
