i was just trying to get a vortex effect of a sinking boat. i almost got it but the object wouldn't sink. it was a Britannic model with weight also. the ship refused to go down. i need a pool now. any tips?
-
Sorry I dont know much about water, what is a vortex effect?
-
when a ship sinks, a vortex is apparently created which sucks people and objects close enough down.
-
Never heard of that. So, I can not suggest anything. Can't you just stick with the shiff sinking ;D?
-
Hey Trains,
I have heard of this many, many times BUT Mythbusters tested this and it does NOT occur! :o
-
it didn't occur with the tug but it did with a 300 pound box.
-
True but a box isn't a ship. :D
-
shut up. same effect.
-
So the bit in the titanic film where they get sucked under is caused by vortex effect

That's what they said. A chef (or Butler) was on the real thing. He says he rode the ships stern all the way down and simply stepped off when she went under, feeling no suction. He was drunk at the time though ::)
By the way, this same guy can be seen in the Titanic film.
-
i highly doubt that though. he had to of gotten his hair wet. he was too drunk.

ANYWAY*ahem (*purpose coughing) achen!......
I have never heard of vortex+shiff= anything being pulled underwater with the shiff even though it is not on it but very close to it.
