If you've never heard of a Mahnahmahnah look HERE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynjIoymWHvU&feature=related) - It's really funny. For another bigger laugh you can also look HERE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbs64GvGgPU&feature=related)

The song originally isn't from the muppet show but it got famous because of that sketch in the first muppet show episode. It's performed by "Mahna Mahna and the Snowths".
So "Mahna Mahna", is the orange haired muppet's name. ;D

If you are refering to sesame street, then you are correct. However, if you are refering to the show"Muppets", then you are wrong.
-
Heya Captain,
Indeed, Elmo is not from the Muppet Show, but the Sesame street puppets are also created by Jim Henson, so Elmo is a Muppet too. ;D
Fred
-
Ohh, I never knew that. Here, they are just refered to Elmo and cookie monster ;D.
-
Me like Cookie Monster. ;D
-
i heard the new name for the cookie monstor is the veggie monster
-
I was for about a week but too many thousands of people yelled at them. :D
-
Yep, they are not really refered to as Muppets on Sesame Street, but they're all Muppets.
Actually Sesame Street is much older than the Muppet Show too. But he created the Muppets even before that, when he was doing another children's show, the name of which I don't recall atm, and I am too lazy to consult wiki right now. ;D
He wanted to make puppets that could be played in such a way that the puppeteer remained unseen on TV, so that the puppets really came to life. He first did that childrens show, in which Kermit was 'born', after that sesame street, then he and his colleagues performed on shows like Saturday Night Live, to aim for an aduly audience, and finally they got the go ahead for the Muppet Show.
Oh btw, the little green fellow below is a Muppet aswell, as Jim Henson and Frank Oz created him. Frank Oz is the puppeteer and voice for all the films. Bet you;d never had guessed that. ;D
