After three versions of Ship Simulator it`s time to do some questions.

Why so poor "nautical chart"? Would be possible to do a nautical chart which the user could locate an size at any place of the screen or even on a second screen?

The controls should be possible locate an size too as you want.

The pilots or the seaman need plans before to fly or navigate. In this simulator you can`t make a plan previously. It would be another way to enjoy the simulator. Deploy your nautical chart on the table and watch the routes, the marks, the depths, the traffic rules...

We don`t know the priorities V-Step use in order to develop the simulation but we are really confused.

Hi Tinchu,

If you want to lay out a course in free roaming, or even in a mission, you can enlarge the chart to full screen and place waypoints on it.
You can even engage the autopilot and accelerate time, but only while you stay in the big chart.
When the Mission Editor is released, you can make your own mission with whatever waypoints, traffic, etc, that you want.

The chart is poor at this moment, you can clearly see your ships surroundings when you zoom in, but you can't see what is expected on the way, you have to guess.
You should have to freely move the map around and zoom in to the points of interest, also in the missions the enermous green cross which white background destroyes information under it.

The waypoint markers on the chart of SS08, these green circles you know are much better. Shipping lanes should also be included onto the charts.

I think that the best charts we had were in SS 2006.  They looked like authentic maritime charts with shipping lanes, bouys and transits marked on them.  SS2008 and SSE charts are poor in comparison.
