Hugh R. Sharp

The Hugh R. Sharp is an acoustically quiet vessel designed by Bay Marine Inc. of Billerica, Massachusetts. The 146' coastal research vessel is designed to meet ICES radiated noise standards to 8 knots.

Accomodation is available for up to 30 scientists on day trips and up to 20 scientists on longer overnight trips.

Scientific facilities include wet and dry laboratories, winches, and can carry 20-foot portable laboratory vans. Dynacon supplied the scientific deck equipment including hydraulic systems and an "A" frame.

The Hugh R. Sharp is partially funded through the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) along with University funds and private donors.

The vessel was delivered in January 2006.

I too was amazed by the speed that the gods of 3D Modeling instilled upon my mouse!

I guess I have been so deprived of 3D modeling in the last few months it's all I've done...

Hmm... Clearly I've done alot of work with Mystic seaport (SS Sabino) so that might really be  possibility.

Thanks!

Does you father still work at Mystic, just out of the sake that I may know him...

He never has... the vessel was brought down to New York Harbour and he captained it here for 2 years...he quit due to the fact that some of the crew papers were not in order which he was told were in order and he was too busy :-\ Shame he still misses it...but If you are interested let me know and Ill find some more pics  :)

Oh and by the way The vessel this topic is about looks great,  sorry to interupt   :-[
