I think I've just found the best excuse to go out and buy a new computer...

(dashing off to look at the thread on PC specs...)

One thing about the cranes... How long does it take to fully load a ship, in real life where looking at just over 24hr... I'm worried it'll take a long time to fully load a ship, (I'm not expecting 24hr) wouldn't want it to be a few hrs!

Thankyou

Greetings,
No,it would be nice to put about 20 containers on the vessel,or taking 20 of.
Most of the time in harbours, they work with more than 1 crane on a vessel, and than it still takes some houres to load or unload the vessel.

All those pictures look very nice, looking forward to the release :D

Hi ChiefEagle,

I still haven´t found a suitable provider for such a video. Youtube just allows 100 MB and a 1,5 minute video, made with Fraps, has more than 300 MB... :'(

Cheers
About this, it will work if you first import it into Windows Movie Maker or something like that, and then export it again. This will make it only 5-10 mb per minute.

Only one thing:
Maybe that's not, what you are really waiting for...

Will the interior of the Pride of Rotterdam bridge become any better? Or is it like this in real? Or will it stay like this?

Regards,

You'll only have to load/unload 20 or less containers. So no, it won't take hours :)

Hello,
A propos AIS, there is an interesting site
http://www.pa3esz.nl/ais/rijnmond.html
with actual AIS data

Hi LucAtC,

seems to be not really actual, looks more than the normal Google Earth picture with attached icons for the vessels. It's daylight there, at 22.15 h right now...

But nice to see the PRIDE OF HULL at P&O's terminal, coming soon with SS08.

Cheers

Hello Bottman,
It can be, but I dont understand what you say about daylight on a map?
What I see are the AIS data with fresh DTG. Did you click on the icons to read the data, consistent with the trails?
Oh I see what you mean the times given are UTC, ie you needed to add 2 hr to get CET. Was that the problem?
It is a similar site as this one
http://www.aisliverpool.co.uk/index.php?map=Channel

Hello Michael,
Indeed, one can zoom, pan, etc... and also, coming back to the AIS question, it is to be remembered, I think, that AIS is implemented on the chart of ShipSim 2006 Pro, and will be also implemented on the Pro Version of 2008. Well, at a higher cost, but justified in my view (not my wife's...)
And another one http://www.hamntjanst.se/ais.htm
and this one, more general, but needing a (free) registration to have all details: http://www.vesseltracker.com/en/Home.html
Regards,
Luc

As one who has been on the bridge of several ferries leaving port, that video gets my vote!

The bridge looks a little sparse, but the feel of a ferry casting off is superb!!!!

Also note that there are nav lights on side. Nice touch.
