Hello;
Being that one of the most popular ships on the forum is the Ocean Star I have a question . . .
What makes the Ocean Star so cool?
(Do not worry, I voted for her too! ;))

Goos question

Because big stuff rocks!
Only thing I miss on that ship is people... ;D

I think big stuff does rock . . . And true, seeing people on board would be cool - however, what makes the ship so popular amongst Ship Sim gamers? I like her for the maneuverability and of course the great views from the bridge. Oh, and I almost forgot, the challenge to pilot her in small spaces - fun stuff.

And for me I must say, the OCEAN STAR is a kind of compensation for the missing ferries in SS06! I love to berth her like a ferry fo example at the Hook of Holland, where normaly the Stena ferries get moored...
Cheers

Hook of Holland? Where is this?

Hi AriesDW,
if you reach the estuary of the river Maas from the open sea, heading for Rotterdam, you will pass Europoort on starboard - and Hoek van Holland (The Hook) on portside, just at the beginning of the Nieuwe Waterweg. The very first berth was originally built for the Stena HSS, but she was withdrawn from service a few month ago. The next berthes are for the new "Stena Hollandica"-twins.
Cheers

Does ablolutely not look cool look its a floating hotel..... Lay a skyscraper on its side and Voila' same effect, But it has nice handling. ;D

True, she could be prettier - but she does some great tricks in the manuevering department.

Me too, the bridge for me is too big for the controls.

Explain?

Explain?
I think he means that the bridge of the ship is way to big for the small controls. That there a bit "lost" in all te space.

Sadly that is how the bridge is on the real vessel. Well, it is not like that exactly, but fairly similar. However, I prefer bridges like that of the Queen Elizabeth, QM2, or the Normandie . . . The last is a personal fave.

I like it because of the handle and power. Since I travel many times a year with bigger ships, it's cool to be a captain of one ;D

Ha ha true. I agree. I love the wide array of maneuvers that she is capable of.
