I'm good thanks, heading back to sea on Tuesday for a month or so.

Some people really get on my nerves sometimes

....well, don't feel guilt for doing the right thing. Better arguments against my own weaker arguments may only improve my opinion. And as I imagine, teaching reason and principle is the cornerstone of marine navigation. Happy sailing after all!
I wonder though what do you call an officer sailing on board a vessel for a month and spending his free time playing "ship simulator". I'd say "obsessed"? Any other adjectives?? ;D

I don't actually play the game any more, My SS08 DVD is knackered and I won't buy SSE because of the Eco Warrior nonsense included in it.  I only post on here because some of the discussion are of interest and a few of the people are usually good fun to chat to.

The reason I joined this forum is that I adore sea travel although I just have a speed boat and a small sailboat license. Therefore I can't claim to be an experienced seaman. I also love the marine engineering and get my kicks if i have the opportunity to visit the engine room or observe the bridge of a large vessel. Such incredible, gigantic  achievements of engineering! Things a professional seaman can't really appreciate anymore.
I'm looking forward to add up to my marine terminology and overall experience and I'm sure shipsim and this forum are the easiest way to do that, sitting on my chair.
I accept judgement and hierarchy, just keep the clean language  :-*
