Back in the day This board was heaving with people, but those were the good old times, now, in the depression years you'll be lucky if theres 50 regulars

Even Spirit of Tasmania don't seem very sure, I was intrigued so sent them an email asking how foot passengers boarded an d got this reply!!

Thank you for your recent email.
Foot passengers check in via the front counter in both Devonport and Melbourne. When the ship is berthed in Devonport-you don't actually walk on the vehicle deck, there is a small distance prior to entering-exiting the ship where you are walking near the vehicles.
