Just purchased this game from steam. Steam official forums are non-existant. I cannot find out where my product key is and to top it all off the game crashes while loading on Windows 7.
Very disappointed.
How am I supposed to look for solutions in the technical support forum if I need a key to access it!?!
-
Me too
-
It not only crashes on Windows 7 but also Vista. What gives?
-
Im on XP !
-
i get your language is not supported
vista -- steam
-
I'm loosing my patience and going to just demand a refund from Steam very shortly.
Which bright spark decided to restrict access to tech support without a product key? A product key that we don't have!!!
Why can't companies get their act together with this sort of thing.

If the game has a cd key it is stored in your steam account.

Why are the moderators and admins ignoring this thread? Can we please have some help please! Cannot access Tech Support forum and the game is not working.
-
Attention all...
To get help from the Tech Board, You have to register your key to the SS profile
Also, This might help. Might take some days before they reply back:
https://support.steampowered.com/ (https://support.steampowered.com/)
Right click at Ship Simulator Extremes logo at steam games and press Serial Key (Something like that)

MY GOD ... are you serious? Have you read what this thread is about?
This is almost laughable.
Maybe if you tell Steam to issue some keys we might be able to get access to tech support. So quite frankly with responses like that yes I am being ignored.

They do issue keys because I have games on steam that have keys. Now along your taskbar should be a steam icon it'll be on the right near the clock. Double click that go to library and it should bring up a list of games on the left. Click on the game you want. Now on the right you should see links and look in that list will be CD key if your game has one. I don't know if ship sim has one because I've ordered the box version and i'm not going to buy the steam version aswell.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. I'm already e-mailing Steam for a FULL refund. What absolute TRASH developing. Buy a ridiculously overpriced ship simulator, then you find out that the developers don't even give you a key for it! Then when you try and get support for that, they tell you to log in with your key (which you don't have because if they would have read, you didn't get a key with Steam) to get techincal support.
I'm trying to get my money back now because this is some of the most idiotic developing I've ever seen. I haven't even been able to play the game, but if these morons are the one's making it, I don't want to play it. I don't want to give a dime to these people.
You should be ashamed of yourselves for this trash.

Yep. Think I'm going to do the same. The game simply doesn't work and to refuse me access to technical support is absolutely infuriating.
Bye Bye Ship Simulator. Another lost customer.

Note
This is solely Valvue's fault, not VStep. The developers have nothing to do with that outlet.
If they had done what they promised, everyone would be happy now. But they didn't.
don't blame the wrong people.. ;)
And if you'd looked around a bit and used the search option here, you'd have known that. Sometimes it pays to first think, and then write.
Fred.

I'm sorry Fred but that just doesn't come close to being a good excuse. Don't pass the buck.
You could if you had any respect for your customers somehow give us access to the support forum even if only temporarily. It is YOUR fault that we cannot access technical support.
Yes Steam messed up. I can appreciate that. But I would have expected a better response other than to just pass the buck.
The game isn't working and crash dumps on startup.
I'm sick to death of companies like yours doing all they can to prevent piracy and in doing so alienate their own loyal customer base.
-
Note

You know what this is so rude. How dare you come back with a response like that to a paying customer.
Why the hell should I have to bother searching to know this? Show me exactly where on your forums this is mentioned?!
I don't really care where its mentioned to be honest - you could have the decency to just repeat the notice on here instead of an outrageously rude response like that. I really wouldn't expect that from a representive of the game company.
I am so shocked I don't think you deserve my money.
-
As far as I can tell, it was Steam that went weird ::)
It would have gone fine, and the activation for all the license keys was planned for a certain time.
But Steam had the ability to activate them, but at their sole fault forgot to activate them or something caused it to be delayed.
I do not see anything at fault with the developers there ???
They did not plan for that to happen...
-
FYI, Fred does not work for VSTEP, he freely gives a lot of his time to help run this forum.
Dont come in all guns blazing. The issue here is STEAM. If you have an issue, please email VSTEP directly, im sure they would be glad to hear from you.
-
What a bunch of friggin whining babies you guys are. For the added convenience of steam, you can wait a day or two while the issues get flattened out. Just think, if you had waited to order the game this late you wouldn't be getting the game for several days anyways. It will work on steam very soon, I can guarantee it.
-
I think the mods are going to be very busy banning people at this rate. There seems to be alot of people that don't know how to behave and have real anger problems. And Steam has been playing up today as people who wanted to buy a add-on for another game I have had to make 2-3 tries this is on top of it being released over 2 hours late.
-
That is fine, but as a 'fanboy' i was just merely pointing out to a troll like yourself that Fred should not be taking your flack. Fred does not work for VSTEP, so why hurl abuse at him? He volunteers many many hours of his service to running this forum - free of charge!
If you have an issue, shouting on a forum isn't the way forward. Contact VSTEP directly for any proper solutions.
-

Yeah ban me, I'm not just blindly licking the developers nuts like you guys are with your boat signatures and avatars.
When I buy a game, I expect to be able to access it. Instead I paid 40 dollars to look at a CD key screen with no cd-key. I don't care if they fixed it tomorrow, the fact that it happened at all is just pathetic and shows the kind of developers you're getting.
-
Well, I have my product key from the boxed version, but I can't register it with Steam. The German Forum says steam will enable the activation between 4 pm and 12 pm on August 27th.... Guess what: time's up. In the meantime you see pictures all over the web by people who have downloaded the game illegaly and can play. Once again the honest customer is betrayed. Not once should they complain about piracy, but first fix their own failures.
-
To the last 3 blind fanboy users who posted, you're all pathetic. You keep claiming it's STEAM, it's not STEAM, as I said, over 200 games purchased, lots of big name games, lots of small indie games, not ONCE have I encountered this issue with their service, I'm almost positive never again as long as I don't buy anything from these developers.
You can say I'm whining or whatever, that's fine, I'll gladly take my refund and never see view anything these people put out ever again. But till I recieve my refund, I'm going to make sure everyone here who purchased on STEAM knows about this crap.
Oh I love steam, but this is a Steam problem most likely right now. I have about a hundred games on Steam, and I will be getting ship sim soon, but most people who use steam know that the first few days are somewhat rough.
To Rac0r: You can't do that. Has to be bought on steam to use with Steam.
-
To Rac0r: You can't do that. Has to be bought on steam to use with Steam.
Wrong.
That is exactly how it is. Many games now purchased off the shelf need to be activated on steam. Ship Sim Extremes being one of them.
-
...pictures all over the web by people who have downloaded the game illegaly and can play. Once again the honest customer is betrayed. Not once should they complain about piracy, but first fix their own failures.
There was the option to either order the boxed version OR a downloaded version that could be downloaded from VSTEP. The download was fully legal.
-
I don't see what your getting at, as much as you love this precious STEAM.
Sometimes things like this can go wrong, the only problem that went wrong was STEAM not activating the activation codes. You can phone them up now and they will tell you it was THEM who had to delay it and not the developer.
The developer just makes it.
And as rightly pointed out STEAM did go slightly wrong, but theres no point trying to deny it, even if you are a die hard fan of theirs.
There really is no point trying to blame someone else
It will be fixed by tommorow.
No hard feelings mate, but we need to accept things like this sometimes,.
-
There was the option to either order the boxed version OR a downloaded version that could be downloaded from VSTEP. The download was fully legal.
And your point is?
-
In the meantime you see pictures all over the web by people who have downloaded the game illegaly and can play.
You had the option to download from VSTEP instead of buying the boxed version, making it legal.
-
You had the option to download from VSTEP instead of buying the boxed version, making it legal.
I'm confused - exactly how is the boxed version not legal?
And anyway, I didn't buy the boxed version. I purchased and downloaded it from Steam.
-
Why go barking up VSTEP's tree? They are hardly responsible here?
Paradox is the distributor, they are responsible for getting the game out to various outlets, like Steam.
Steam is one of many outlets selected by Paradox (and not VSTEP), most likely thats where the error occurred. Would you go knock on the door of some Taiwanese sub-factory because your local E-Mart employee forgot to add that cable you needed with you Philips device?
-
You had the option to download from VSTEP instead of buying the boxed version, making it legal.
Yeah, but the point is: honest customers who BOUGHT the boxed versions can't play, while others who have downloaded it illegaly can. It does not matter wether the legal downloaders can play or not. The fact is: some customers are at a disadvantage.
-
I dont get it ::)
The illegal users operate differently, thats no ones fault.
They have uploaded the game illegally and more people download it illegally.
Im sure the people with boxed versions are quite happy knowing they havent got it illegally

Because maybe they will realise after this they need to find a better distributor for their next game.
-
RacOr...the game can be downloaded LEGALLY from VSTEP  Boxed and downloaded LEGAL options were offered.
Honest customers are having issues with STEAM activiation. As far as im aware VSTEP have held their end of the bargin.

All peopel who have registerd are honset costumers since they have got a license key and it can't be registerd in more then 1 profile.

And who cares whose fault it is ? Fact is, it does not work. Everybody involved is responsible. VSTEP has contacts to Paradox and they have contacts to Steam. It is possible to get things moving fast.
-
The issue at present is the vast scale of this operation. Its HUGE, worldwide! At VSTEP offices it is 0110am, in the Dutchlands, and STEAM is just after 1800 over in america. The time differences arent helping in this matter, but just be patient.
Shouting and moaning wont hurry things along ;)

If a computer crashes, I highly doubt a phone call from anyone is going to make it go faster ::)
We should leave it at that I think now, yes?
Everybody can play tommorow, and everyone is happy.
Theres no need to continue making bad comments about anyone or corporations.
No hard feelings to anyone, and happy sailing very soon

I am downloading King Arthur the Roleplaying Game from Steam to calm me down.

Good thank you
I hope you enjoy your King Arthur game :)

Ok gents,
I just checked this with Paradox and they are aware of this issue and they are trying to fix it ASAP. It is an unfortunate surprise to us at VSTEP as well, but I'm confident that the folk at Paradox & STEAM will get it solved and they will get your game working with STEAM. I cannot do much more but ask you politely for some patience...
Rest assured we are aware and are following this up with them as well...
-
cmon whats up with people this wil be fixed soon so stop complaining like a spoild brat. mine is not working eder but i dont complain i will just simply try it again in some hours... so what are you guys problem you can't wait a bit you are just starting to complain as fast as you can. i'm sure this problem is gone by some hours.

Sadly it does seem Ship Sim is suffering from "Silent Hunter 5 Syndrome" paying customers denied the right to play boxed products due to moronic DRM schemes on one hand whilst the game has obviously been shipped far too early full of bugs just to meet it's scheduled date. The day one patch is evidence of this judging by the large number of key issues it addresses. This is sadly now an industry wide state of affairs caused not by dedicated developers like VStep & the SH5 guys at Ubisoft Romania (who I do think both strive to provide a quality product) but by publishers out of touch with their customers and in the pockets of the shareholders.
We as customers are also in a large way to blame for this ourselves buying into the myth/lies of digital distribution now we have more expensive games, no printed manuals, poor support (steam 3-4 days for a response!) and games we can't play because a company is too lazy/busy to flick an activation switch. Oh yeah it's a really big improvement over boxed product! No wonder the simulation genre is dead on its feet.

Yeah, the way it's going these days, stuff like http://www.onlive.com will be the future. I fear the day.

Seems it has been pulled from Steam as of this moment. Also.. I only paid £24.99. I thought it sounded a bit cheap at the time - I wonder if this was a mistake since the description was also wrongly talking about some puzzle game. Then suddenly it was gone from the Steam store.
If it was wrongly priced then its a bit of a result! ;-)
-
I tried registering earlier to try and get some advice but after 12 hours or so it seems that the forum doesn't like Yahoo! addresses - or at least it didn't earlier... Used my main address and voila, it works fine!
Anyway. I'm one of those sorts of people who loves 'stuff' like ships but without ever really getting involved with reading or learning about them; I'd never thought about getting a ship simulator before but I confess the recent trailers of SSE made the idea quite appealing.
I read quite a few bits on the forum over the past couple of days (mostly to see if anywhere around the Moray or Cromarty Firth regions were modelled (but couldn't find out)) and decided to take the plunge. A few people mentioned using www.coolshop.co.uk to buy from so on Thursday evening I placed an order for the digital download version.
This morning I successfully downloaded and installed SSE but was prompted to enter my serial key. My account info with coolshop.co.uk had a "Installation key" heading but there was no key listed so I couldn't complete the installation. Could someone elaborate on "what should be happening"? I contacted coolshop.co.uk and they replied (within 3 minutes!) that I need to contact Vstep to see about acquiring a key. I contacted Vstep and they told me there was an error with Steam and that the games would be activated later.
Well that's great and all but I never mentioned Steam in my email to them so I have no idea what is going on.
Should coolshop.co.uk have been given registration keys by Vstep, which they then distribute to the customer? That seems logical to me but I'm not sure what to do now; if the retailer says to contact the developer and the developer says to wait for Steam to fix it (even though I haven't used Steam to purchase SSE)...
I don't mean to hijack the thread completely but I think my question's on the same lines as what other people have been wondering, hoping someone can help.
Thanks

Ok, latest update is that STEAM boxed versions should have no problem activating through STEAM. There is only a problem with STEAM download versions (so versions that have been downloaded from the STEAM digital download store). They (Paradox/STEAM) are fixing this asap. I guess that is why they pulled the download.
Update: STEAM boxed versions still seem to have trouble activating. We have notified Paradox/STEAM about it, they are still looking into the matter.

It is not correct that you should contact us for a key. Coolshop should give you a key if they are the reseller. They are responsible for their products sold and should include a key. We have not given them keys, they have been given keys by Paradox.

Thank you Frank, I appreciate your quick reply. I'll send an email back to Coolshop and quote this, if you don't mind - I must admit the situation had left me a little confused :)
Thanks,

Frank i have one question what about people that bought and downloaded the game BEFORE the product was pulled off the steam store will they have to rebuy the game or will it automatically update????
-
Let's pause for one minute & notice the time it's hitting 1am in the UK & that means it's 2am in the Netherlands and a senior VStep guy like Frank is still here that shows something about him & his company they are not to blame here and are trying to put things right, if only things were like that in the Seattle HQ of the mighty Steam empire.
-
I agree I just hope that for people that bought the game before it was pulled automatically update and dont have to re buy ship sim extremes
-

I honestly don't know, but my guess is that your download will start working as soon as STEAM fixes this error with key validation. Anyway, if you have paid for it, then you will undoubtedly get a working version.
I agree I just hope that for people that bought the game before it was pulled automatically update and dont have to re buy ship sim extremes
And to reassure you, I'm pretty sure that you will not have to pay again!
-
Ok what a relief its just cause ive Downloaded and installed it and i can play it just starts up and says ur language is not supported so i think once they fix my game will update.
-
I just installed from steam after a few tries. It seemed as if SSE was removed for a while and you could not purchase it. I also noticed text referring to another game on the SSE page. Strange. Anyway I was finally able to purchase and download an hour ago. Upon first launch there's a message about a first time initialization and now all I see is a small SSE banner and a popup for MWDRCC.dll that has and OK button that won't allow me to click. That is as far as I'm getting.
Vista Home Premium x32 SP1
4GB RAM
AMD Phenom II x3 720
ATI Radeon HD 4200 -> yeah I know
-
So the boxed versions will work ? As in the future ? They don't right now.
My Paradox UK DVD boxed retail version is also not working its giving an "invalid product code" message I have tried logging in logging out of my steam account etc all to no avail.

Ok Sonarman, it's noted and I have updated my previous announcement. Thanks for reporting.
-
I also have this problem after I bought this game on steam. When I try to play, the farthest I get is to a screen during initial loading of the game where a pop up box appears with this text: "License check Error: Your language setting is not supported."
I also noticed, like was previously mentioned by another poster, that the description on the page where this game was bought on STEAM seemed to be referenceing another game about puzzles. I did not notice this until after I purchased unfortunately. Now that page does not seem to exist on steam. It links you back to the steam home url when you click on the "store page" for this game on steam.
I have submited a ticket with steam about this and I am not here to really complain but more to see if anyone else had this problem. I take some solace in the fact that I am not the only one but at the same time I'm disappointed.
Here's hoping for a quick fix.
-
I get the language problem as well they are fixing it as we speak by tomorrow we can wake up get on the comp then play Hopefully but they will fix it, thats why they took it down.
-
Overall a shame that the release of what should have been a fine game has been marred in this fashion. Very unprofessional to say the least.

It's the first time a Ship Simulator title has been released on Steam. You can never expect these sorts of things to go without their initial errors. The important thing is that they always get sorted out.

Actually, you can. Professionals test stuff like that in advance just for that reason. Btw. new day - still doesn't work. This is getting ridiculous. The game has been rated down to one star at amazon.de. That's also where I'll be sending it back to on Monday if this incompetence continues.
-
I have a boxed Steam version (Paradox) and there is an activation code on the back of the manual. But entering that activation code on Steam says "Invalid Product Code"
The same code works fine as a Valid Ship Sim Extreme registration code on these forums
-
Steam seems to be passing the buck as well.

FROM STEAM FORUMS
We're working on getting a proper batch of keys from Paradox to unlock game copies purchased via Steam.
We'll hopefully have this resolved shortly.
Thanks for your patience
No big deal really. Everyone representing the developers, distributors, and the guys at Steam just need to take responsibility for it, no matter who's at fault, and reassure everyone that it will be handled swiftly. I'm anxious to play, but I understand things happen. Making your customers feel as though they're doing something wrong by complaining about it never helps. Kill em' with kindness.
-
this is unfortunate i hoped to wake up and get on the comp and play sse but thats not happening
-
I see Steam has relaunched the game. However, still no CD keys.
I give up.
-
so do i, its relaunched which means we probably have to rebuy it. steam is really annoying and i was hoping to get a nice game and its gone so i guess i have to waist another 39 dollars and re buy it because they cant update it. also how do i fix the your language is not supported im using english why is it not working.

I'm sorry but "rebuying" it is not a viable option. STEAM has on record who bought the game (they need to legally). It is their responsibility to fix. You may just need redownload/resintall the gam once they fix it. It is illegal for them to force you rebuy a game you already bought. The language issue is the "cd key" problem.
-
Actually, you can. Professionals test stuff like that in advance just for that reason. Btw. new day - still doesn't work. This is getting ridiculous. The game has been rated down to one star at amazon.de. That's also where I'll be sending it back to on Monday if this incompetence continues.
The bolded isnt always true and naive to think a system will always work. I bet if this was a more popular game or more people created support tickets then more people will care to fix the problem. Its usually how it works. At my profesion, one of the first thing that gets asked is how many people have a particular problem. If its low, it gets put on the back burner to fix more pressing issues.

Hi all,
Once more, for any of you not checking all of this topic, let me post again what I posted yesterday:
Paradox/STEAM are aware of the problem and are fixing it as we speak. They have asked me to reassure you that it will be fixed as soon as possible, and everybody that has bought the STEAM version of the game will be able to play soon.
Although it is very much out of our hands, I can relate to your frustration. Please let me nevertheless apologize for the inconvenience and mishap/irritation that this is causing and ask you for some more patience as they are fixing this.
Kind regards,
Frank

Can you please clarify if Steam are actually going to be issuing us with physical CD Keys so we can activate your Technical Support forum?
Why can't you open up the Technical Support forum to everyone if only temporarily until this mess is over?

I understand your query and will check if this is possible. However, the problem is only with STEAM versions from Paradox. Versions (boxed or download ) purchased through VSTEP or downloads from other portals like Gamersgate do not have this problem and are able to activate without a problem. We have to check with Paradox ourselves on progress about the STEAM versions, have you tried the Paradox tech support?
-
Ok here is what i know, the VSTEP keys are secured the steam versions not.
Because of some hacker that brought out the game days before the 27th they found out that the hacked version can get into servers and play without a glitch.
So to get you people save from guys that downloaded a cracked game they have to rewrite a piece of code to protect their servers and yours.
It will take a few days to solve this, thats why there are no keys at the moment.

Hi,
as mentioned above boxed versions are working now if you activate them via Steam - not with the installer on the disc. Remove the disc and restart steam. Then go to "Games" --> "Activate a Product on Steam". Enter your key and the Game will be downloaded for installation. The download is 3GB. Servers are very fast I got around 2MB/s. Depending on your connection this is an option or not.
The disc is completely useless.
-
Oh...
take the disc out...

Guess this also does not work for everyone. This is just pathetic. Now, that I have the game installed and activated, I get a black window... I've never seen this level of failure from any game developer or vendor.

if the steam get it to work then all will work, hope you did not bay a steam version then

but why is the boxed version or any version of sse connected with steam? just a normal non-steam version would have done it :-\
-
Agree with you, but it's nothing that v-step have desided but the publisher. so it are two versions on with and one without steam support
-
I have the boxed version.I start the install from the disc and then it goes to Steam, showing 89% completed. It then updates up to 99% and then pauses. It won't go any further.
I don't want to remove the game and download the whole thing via Steam,I have a crap 1 meg line at the moment :'(
-
any idea when STEAM will have this whole thing sorted out? ???
-
Its fixed ;)

Hi all,
Unfortunately there is no timescale about the Steam issue. The only thing I know is that they are working on a solution as we speak (well perhaps not now as they'e probably still asleep due to the timezones ;D).
Be rest assured things are being worked on and you will all be updated shortly when more information is available :)

That is not a official fix, so it may not work for everyone. As I said, there will be more information shortly :)

What's not official about shipsim.com?
Roger

Guys,
If it was an official fix then it would have been posted by a developer or member of staff. You can cleary see that it was posted by a member ;)
-
i tried that way and it did the same thing as it was doing. that whole language not supported thing.
-
Exactly, a fix that may not work for everyone :)
-
i just hope that STEAM fixes it soon. its been 2 days that i had the game and have not been able to play it. :C
-
i'm having problems to, so were all in the same boat,
but steam is one hell of a company, and i can tell you that when friends of mine were under there employment, the managment took issues like this very seruosily, and i'm sure they still do,
in the mean time, theres always ss2008 (we all know that works ;D )

I was wondering how you came about that they are working on it? Ive been on the steam forums and here and doesnt seem to be one word from valve.

captin spencer is mod, and probobly in contact with vstep or something along those lines,
dan
(and yes, i'm answering because right now i have nothing better to do but "forum watch ;D )

I ordered this game a few days ago and its coming tomorrow I was thinking over the weekend of everyone playing it while I waited for it. But I've just come onto the forums and checked user reviews for the game everything seems to be going bad and a lot of people haven't been able to play it yet so I'm not the only one. I hope the problems get fixed and I'm now worried if my game is not going to work when it arrives.. :-\

Yeah I was hoping captain spencer can elaborate a little bit more because if theres a place on the net where he got this info then I would like to know. If he got it from the devs then thats okay too but was just curious. I have a ticket open with steam telling them how poor communication is from them. I'm getting more info on the problems with steam from the devs (in this forum) than from valve.

Hi haldi323,
Danny is correct all staff here on the forum are always in contact with VSTEP. I can confirm that VSTEP said that Steam have been notified about this and are working on it to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
I doubt they will be posting on their own forums about this problem though.
Trust me, this is being sorted out as quickly as possible ;)

Well we try and provide people with as much information as possible and let me know what the situation is.
Unfortunately some don't appreciate the work we do :-\

It's a thankless job but you should always know at the end of the day that you are helping out people no matter what their reactions are.

Well we do our best to help people with any issues as much as possible :)

My problem is that no one will answer us when we say we get the language is not supported can someone PLEASE tell me what is going on with the error are they fixing it?
-
Douglas,
I apologise for not replying to your post in particular, however we as staff have literally 'pages' of posts to go through, answering probably hundreds of questions about various things.
If you are concerned about something, it is best to contact VSTEP directly who will answer your question as soon as possible.
Regards,
Adam

As it seems a common problem, it should be better if 1 man comes with an answer then 200 people come with the same question?

Steam will not give refunds, I have already been trying for the past 24 hours. The support team just keeps pasting this link to me -
"Hello Taylor,
As with most software products, we will not offer refunds or exchanges for purchases made online as outlined in the software license - please review Section 4 of the Steam Subscriber Agreement for more information.
Steam Subscriber Agreement
http://www.steampowered.com/index.php?area=subscriber_agreement
We will make an exception for pre-ordered games if the request is received prior to the release date."

I understand, its just frustrating trying to fix it.
-
Guys,
it took me half a day to figger out what went wrong, but I have the answer to the language problem!
Do turn off the virus scanner and also your internetconnection, you never know what's coming in during this... (just control panel, network, disable or switch off). Leave it this way, even during game boot up!
Get a clean install, so if you already tried, remove those old folders and items you see with Paradox.
Here it comes: CHOOSE ENGLISH AS YOUR DEFAULT LANGUAGE!!! Not your own!
Make sure that Physx will be (re)installed. If you are installing again, it will remove it!
Also install Directx and Redinst2005.
Setup should go accordingly and when finished, don't try to start the game yet.
First copy the files from the SKIDROW MAIN folder, from the CD or image file you are browsing into the MAIN folder of SSE on your harddisk. Most files will be replaces, so choose yes, to all.
Then copy the Checklicensekey.dll from the SKIDROW Channels folder to the Channels folder as above, choose yes.
After that, try starting the game with the on screen logo or Questviewer logo in the harddrive folder. you might have to activate it by clicking the Q3D file.
It will take a minute to boot up, the SSE splash screen slider should move seconds and later on, a white screen appears. This is where your language error turned up and now there is a bar which asks for a keyword. Just fill out anything you like untill it's full.
Click continue and HAVE FUN!!!!

or you could sell sse on Ebay and download it off the ship sim website

TJK, how you do every time reply as a guest ..? i can't.. you also have an real account..?
-
Note
This is solely Valvue's fault, not VStep. The developers have nothing to do with that outlet.
If they had done what they promised, everyone would be happy now. But they didn't.
don't blame the wrong people..
And if you'd looked around a bit and used the search option here, you'd have known that. Sometimes it pays to first think, and then write.
Fred.

I purchased directly from the ShipSim website, and I got no product key from that site to register if I want technical support. On the other hand, I did find a link to support on the site that did NOT require I put any product key in to get an answer.

When you go to your list of purchased products on that site, you should see a keycode below.
