Pentium 4 2.4GHz or AMD equivalent
1GB (Windows XP) or 2GB (Vista)
GeForce 5900 or ATI 9600 Pro / X600, 128MB memory
But i think that the graphic card is not good enough. ;)

It will defenetly run it   :)

I use a ATI 9550 and that card can even run it. Even if it is a bit slow in habours. :D

I also have the same model of processor and the same amount of ram  :)

Just a note, I'm not saying that it will run perfectly but considered that they listed the X600 in the requirements it should run it pretty decent.

EDIT: Try the demo and you will most likely know even if it's not in the habour that I know of, the habours are thougher on the computer.

Hi,

i have the following system and Shipsim runs on 1600x1200 on high quality settings absolutely incredible :

AMD 2600+ (2,13 Ghz)
1 GB RAM DDR-400
X800 Pro 256MB
X-Fi Music Edition

but i´ve noticed that there's no great difference between 1280x1024 and 1600x1200.

Torsten

P.S.: Is the X600 limited to 128-Bit memory bandwidth ?

I'm a little lost when it comes to exact specifications with ATI cards (nVidia man myself ;)), but here are the full specs for the x600:

I've noticed that when ship sim is running, it batters my HDD constantly searching for the required file for the game. Some of you have failed to mention which type of hard drive you have. Do you have IDE ATA?

ATA is much faster than IDE. I should be getting a 500GB ATA drive soon which should prove a lot faster for games and general applications.

Just thought I'd mention it  ;)

Hi,I didn't want to make another thread about computers so I just used this one :) I hope that's OK ;)

So.... now I am thinking of buying a laptop, an HP Pavilion dv2699 Special Edition.
The specifications is: Intel Core 2 Duo T7250,2 Gb RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS.

So,do you think it will handle SS08?

New question! :D

Is there any big difference between these two processors,if it is...which one is best for gaming?

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3.0GHz Socket AM2 2MB

Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0GHz 1333Mhz Socket LGA775, 4MB

Hiya Lanedre :)

Comparing CPU's is a difficult thing to be perfectly honest, they will all have advantages and disadvantages ::)

I usually use Tom's Hardware as a guide if I'm not sure ;)

This link may help answer your question:

http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu_2007.html

Choose your 2 Processor's and the program for Benchmarking, then click Go, or check the chart a little further down the page ;D

Hi

I still haven't bought a new computer but I am getting closer....this time I have put together some parts on a Norwegian  internet store who builds the computer for you :)
So for those of you who knows a little bit about computers,I wondered if these parts will work well together and if the computer will handle Ship Simulator 2008 and Flight Simulator X with full graphics?
Here is the parts:
 Antec Nine Hundred black miditower,
 Corsair Powersupply 650W Black, ATX/EPS,
 MSI P35 NEO-FI, P35, Socket-775, DDR2,
 Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0GHz 1333Mhz
 XFX GeForce 8800GT 640M 512MB XT GDDR3,
 Corsair TWIN2X 6400 DDR2, 4096MB CL5,
 Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB SATA2
 Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 750GB SATA2
 Samsung DVD-burner SH-S203 SATA

Thanks for any answers! ;)
