Odd wave bug in SSE
« on: November 30, 2011, 21:34:58 »

I recently brought SSE from Steam after a long time away from Ship Sim.
I booted up the game put everything to max and set about in free roaming and I noticed this very annoying, very odd bug with the waves where they appear to distort and move violently at the point where the waves appear to meet the sky, they also bug when I'm close to the water with the camera... Is there any way to fix this?

hmm.. Mine does this too, but from what i've gatherd its due to the way the SSE wave engine works. So it can't be fixed. I have no idea about the red sky  :-\

I'm not too bothered by the red sky, this is the only time it's happened and other days it's never there.

To be honest I doubt that it'll fix it and being on steam I don't wanna download it again, thanks though :)

Yes my SSE did that too. Very annoying, indeed!

Are you sure about this? Because if the problem is the game engine, it means the hole game would need to be re-made to fix that  :o

The red/blue sky appeared with the lastest patch, so it means it can be fixed, if Vstep finally release a patch...  ::)

It wouldn't need to be re-written, they could just add a "mist" at the edge of the map where the dodgy water is. Or they could tweak the water engine SO IT WORKS PROPERLY!

So is it just a problem for a few or is this a bug that everyone has got?

Maybe VStep is slightly ahead of its time..
Judging by the video, that is probably how the sunset will look over a few million years.. :)

Huh... Does Vstep really show us through SSE what the future will be? Now I understand why the end of the world is in 2012
