When I opened the home page of the forum I saw a lot of advertisements...why? Am I the only one who sees advertisements everywhere? IT'S VERY ANNOYING >:( >:( >:(

Hi GeoP, Yes, ads are a nuisance. You may want to download an ad-blocker.
I have used ABP for several years to much satisfaction..
https://adblockplus.org/en/firefox
ps: I use Firefox, but it is also available for other browsers :)
-
ah :P, thanks :2thumbs:
-
Thats funny, I don't have an ad blocker and I don't get any ads here. :)
-
I'm using safari and I have no plug ins and I can only see one ad at the bottom of the page!
You may have a plug in which produced all these adds so the developer can get more money!
-
Also it says adds not by this site
-
i have noticed it too
-
I just checked, and ABP is disabled on this site. I get no ads here either.
Maybe you should check your browser- or your Firewall settings to block that site..
-
no, ABP worked great in my browser ;)
-
So I take it the ads are now gone? :)
-
not completely... :P. there's a gap between the posts
-
What extensions do you have on chrome?
-
only Adblock Plus

Well all I can say is that what you have shown us on your first screenshot, is definately NOT coming from this site. In fact it even says so on those ads you have there. As mentioned above too, of course.
I do not have any adblocking and I don't see any ads here either. There used to be the one ad at the bottom for me too, the google one. But that IS done by/through this website, so that one is supposed to be there. (No idea why it's not showing up for me anymore though.)
But it's not really the best sign if you get all that on your screen for no reason. Time for some cleaning up I guess.

My pc is less than a year old and I "clean" the disk every week :P
-
How do you clean it? Not just with your Anti-virus program..
You'd be surprised how much 'junk' you pick up on internet in only one week, let alone a year.. ;)
I use CCleaner (amongst other) on a regular basis (though I don't touch the Registry)

Hi GeoP17
If your still seeing ads after cleaning , you could try what i had to do. Did not have ads on this site but nearly every new tab i opened they appeared and i use Google Chrome.
Open new tab and in the top right hand corner click on the three bars.
Click on setting, and at the bottom of the page click on advanced setting.
At the bottom of the page it says reset browser setting click on that and it will go back to original settings.
It worked for me but i also used clear browsing data then shut down pc and restart pc.

I use CCleaner and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware....Anyway, to be honest ads have stoped appearing, even when adblockplus is turned off. Thanks for your replies :2thumbs:

ads appeared again >:(
-
Well they're not coming from this site, so there isn't much we can do about it here. Google for answers about blocking ads in your specific browser, I'd say, and get whatever plugin you need installed and doing it's thing, to get rid of them, or something similar to that.

Re run ccleaner
Also think of the downloads or sites you visited. Could one of those be causing it?

Re run ccleaner
I have already done it

I usually don't download anything and the sites I visit aren't dangerous for the computer (I don't think youtube is the reason of the problem ). Moreover i use adblock plus and now there only gaps between the posts :(
Anyway thanks for your help guys. ;) This is my favourite site beacause there's not any advertisment, that's why I like visiting it

Uninstall and reinstall your browser would be the best guess then!

Perhaps this will help

Many are not aware but google itself spreads malicious advertising as well. Many of their search result-adds regarding downloads contain malware once downloaded and installed. (E.G. search for "download firefox" and use the advertisement instead of mozilla's own website, it's infected). The same goes for opening certain advertisement links on Youtube videos. Unknowinly you have 3 extra "anti viruses" installed, 5 price checkers, 19 toolbars and lots of other different junk including extra advertisers.

GIMP had to remove adverts from its download pages as most of the adverts google put there was to download another editing software. The problem was the ads were designed to look like the download button.
-
yes, that's true :P
