I thought the first ship to use the distress code "Save Our Ship" (SOS) was Titanic, But I don't know if a Cunarder or any other ships used SOS before Titanic. But I heard in a deleted scene from Titanic (1997) showed they used the "new" SOS signal.

At that period, as I understand, the SOS signal was fairly new, and many marconists still used the old CQD signal
Titanic sent both CQD and SOS signals..(as well as flares)
