The GMV (Government Motor Vessel) ARAMOANA Her name, in NZ Maori means "pathway Across the Sea (or waters) She was the first RO_RO ship on the NZ coast and entered service in 1962 replacing the Union Lines TAMAHINE & RANGATIRA, she could carry both rail wagons (on her lower deck) as well as cars and trucks, and cars only on the uppper deck. TAMAHINE was a convetional ship and took almost all day to load and dsicharge, ARAMOANA could turn around in an hour. She was followed by ARANUI, ARAHANGA, ARATIKA, ARAHURA. I travelled on ARAMOANA  many times as a child--usually as a guest of thje captain, and served aboard her as an assistant purser, she has now been scrapped but she was a wonderful seaboat :)

We have enough quantity of ferries here in SS: Red Eagle, Red Jet 4, Pride of Rotterdam. And you still want more, or you think that something is still missed in the SS Ferry Service? It should be named "Ferry Simulator" then.  :D

Maybe I'm not a ferry fan, but if you ask me which ferry I'd like to see in future SS, the answer will be so:

http://www.shipspotting.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=691181

But I'm 100% sure that this ship won't be added here just like lots of other requests  :-\

Uhm, that isn't a ferry.

That is a car carrier.

But a car carrier would be nice!
I like the Thames highway.

There were 4 sisters intotal and 1 uprated semi sister. They were all built in Spain, the first 4 were built for Norse Merhcant Ferries/Norfolkline and the last for Transmed.

The first 4 were...

Dawn Merhcant
Brave Merchant
Northern Merchant
Midnight Merchant (now European Endeavour)

And

Murillo

Ive served on all of them apart from Murillo:(, I never had the change to get a look at her whe I was down in Spain with the original sisters when they were sold.

Here's the European Endeavour (ex-Midnight Merchant) I too last year:

It would be nice to see her or one of her Sisters (altogether know as the Racehorse Class), they are very versatile ships, can be used in many ports.

It would also be nice to have one of the larger car carriers as well...

The yanks certainly like their ugly ships...but the Germans are worse, heres P&Os Pride of Rathlin (former Townsend Thoresen Free Enterprise VII German built), now I dont know about your guys but I think anything that Townsend had was rather damn ugly, espeacialy after jumboising them.

A ferry which I would like to see would be the Hawaii Superferry...

And then, if we can add the islands of Hawaii (or at least Oahu and Maui, where the ship is currently sailing between (which is a nice voyage), then things would be even better :D

A little bit off topic because this car ferry is already in SS08 but it has a new paint job. I took these pictures of the Red Osprey this morning.

Haha the IKEA ferry agin, funny that one hehe ;)

I could make a list of ferrys Id love to see in shipsim but then the forumservers would break down ;D

Well well, I feel that the game misses an midsized RoPax or a Cargoferry, think Maersk Flanders or Stena Traveller and you know what I mean. I realy like those kind of ships but maybe Im alone on that one haha.
