Silent strike...

I think that means the game is over.  :D Look at it again, from the begining. It doesn't make sense at all!

I HAVE DONE IT!
I have sucessfully managed to design a gaming computer that will run SSE!
  • It's powered by a intel xeon processor 3.2GHz per core (quad core)
  • nvidia GTX 560 ti 1GB
  • 16GB of ram
  • 2x 1tb HDD's and a 64gb SSD (which is ONLY going to have the OS on, and maybe 3DSmax)
  • Windows 7 ultimate 64bit
  • 1000w psu with 2 rails(the more go juice the better :P)
All for a grand total of... wait for it.... £450.10 incl 19%VAT!  :o
Although I will admit i'm cheating slightly, as its going to be oil cooled, so I don't need any fans, as the entire machine (bar the HDDs, CD/DVD/blu-ray drives and PSU) will be submerged in mineral oil, which is then circulated around the PC, radiator and resovoir by the mother of all pumps.

There is one drawback though, my parents are going to hit the roof when they see the electricity bill

Custom built I guess?

I'm not sure if it is of any help, but I found this for you.

Thanks for that link gab :)
Yep, its a custom build, but because the oil is non ionised it can't conduct electricity, even if I ran the entire capacity of a nuclear power station through it, which means it makes for a great cooling system! plus I dont have to have noisy fans on all the time.

Nope, the pump is silent, and will always stay that way, even when it throttles up to full. Although if its throttling up to maxium then somethings probobly going wrong/has gone wrong/is about to go wrong.
Anyway, I'm off to bed, as I could have sworn my parents said something about a early night

Are you actually going to try to build that system?

1000W PSU! you could use a PSU half that amount and it would still be safe.

You've also forgotten the motherboard
