If you look on TS a bit longer, you'll see a few more familiar faces there. :thumbs:

You can use the model if you have it to convert into a Direct X Model and use it to play in Virtual Sailor, and yes Vstep buys models and changes them a bit and puts them in SSE like the Ocean Star of course there is some obvious changes that have been made!

VSTEP have always purchased models off of Turbosquid. (Or so it seems.)

I'm not sure how VSTEP choose their ships for the game, that might be a good idea for a developer diary actually!
I don't think it's a case of buying a ship and giving it to VSTEP though! Probably not that easy :doh:
There are certain aspects they look for like if it was built woth walkthrough compatability etc.
Wouldnt it be good though if we say to VSTEP, I love this ship if I buy it can i put it in the game! :2thumbs:
But my vote is with Radiance of the seas or Caribbean Princess, and also the Seabourn ship would be EXTREMELY useful for Antartic journeys, small places etc. ::) ;D

Well, those ships realy looks nice, these who are creating them are great!!
The Radiance Of The Seas and Oasis Of The Seas as is a Caribbean Princess looks GREAT!
Also, the author of the Caribbean Princess also created the Ocean Star, so these model should be walktrough and professsional.
Some of these cruise ships are realy needed in the future SS.
But i'm thinking that the better ship for SS would be Seabourn cruise ship, because Ocean Star is already a grand class cruise ship, in class with Caribbean princess and others, Seabourn ships are diferent, they are smaller and more luxury, soe it would be nice to have another cruise ship but diferent, smaller, for smaller places, and harbours, also some intersting cruises.
It think the Seabourn cruise ships would be the ideal vessel for the next Ship Simulator.
It would be to great that is possible to buy a ship and give it to VSTEP. ;D

I just noticed!
The Caribbean Princess & Ocean Star creator announced the Oasis Of The Seas, earlyer these year!
That sounds great! They looks like a very professional medelers, all of the models made by them looks amazing!
Caribbean princess is the nicest model i ever seen!
It has the very high details, also it have the intersting structure and shape.
It would be the best thing to see that ship in Ship Sim, but again, that's probably just my imagination becauzse there are small chances for that.
But i would really give anything to sail that ship. :(

Frank stated that the whaler ships are only AI which means you can not play in them.
Just to clarify things and stop this pointing fingers and second guessing, yes there will be whaling ships (including a huge factory ship as well as hunters) and yes they will be AI.

Too bad the whalers are AI only, especially the catcher. My fathers houseboat lies a good stonethrow away from Southern Actor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Actor), and until we were invited aboard a friends 1896 sailship for the evening we were planning on spending midsummers eve on her. It would have been interesting manouvering a ship of that contruction/era. I dislike the trade of whaling, but I like the ships, also the factory ship (and those of old).
I guess making the whaling ships AI only was one of the deals made with Green Peace? As well as a measure to avoid ramming wars in multiplayer perhaps.
Would be interesting to know if the catcher ship in SSE/used by the japanese is still steam powered.

These model is perfect!
Also it has a lot of details, pool, deck chairs.
But i'm sure VSTEP would throw all that deck chairs and details off, like on the model of Ocean Star. :(
But anyway, that ship would be the best with details or without.

With all due respect, but there has never been such a clause in any contract, nor will there ever be, so please stop making such statements. The choice for GP was one we made in all honesty. And as a logical consequence of this cooperation, either you choose GP or you choose Sea Shepherd. Fact of the matter is, as you are well aware, that both GP and SeaShepherd don't get along too well with eachother, so when we chose GP, that automatically meant going with them all the way. It's like Nike and Adidas at the world cup, you can't have part of a team in Nike and the other part of the same team in Adidas, as both Nike and Adidas would start complaining.
But please stop claiming that there has been a contract with such a clause in it, as this is not the case. Consider it more of a "given word".

Yes, that's more correct than saying GP is demanding all these things...after all, it's still our game, and the GP folk are a very kind, cooperative and helpful bunch for us.

I suppose Greenpeace was definately a good choice though , they are more globally known, they also have missions inland not only at sea. It's a good all-rounder organization trying to do some good :thumbs:
They've definately got some really nice ships too ;D
