Ahh yes, sorry about that, I didn't think about the laguage difference. :P

What type of Windows 7 do you have? Home Basic, Home Enterprise, Enterprise, etc? If you don't know, to find it go to Start > Control Panel > System & security > Under the 'System' banner there should be a link for "See the name of this computer" and click on that. It will then say at the top of the page what type of W7 it is. Once I know that I can tell you when support, etc will end.  :)

Right, from what I can see, mainstream support for your system (and mine) will end on January 13th 2015. This means that you will not be able to request new features (and am I right in saying none will be added?), complimentary support will not continue and hotfixes will stop. :-\

Meanwhile, extended support will continue through to 2020, which means paid support will carry on and security updates will be added too.  :)

However some sources are saying that the Windows 9 Beta will be released by January 2015 so Microsoft are planning to get people with W7 onto W9, however I have no idea about how true that is. :P

Hope that makes sense?

Tbh Geop, I won't be worrying, as extended support is carrying on until 2020, so security updates will carry on and thats the most important thing for me :) however if you do have a problem you will have to pay for official Microsoft support, which is a bit annoying :-\ You can still get advice from blogs and forums though

Mind you, we still have Windows 97 on one of our desktop office computers, and it still works fine (however it was disconnected from the internet a few years back so that has probably prolonged its life a little)! ;D The other desktop has XP on it and our laptop (from which I am typing from) is W7.

Windows 7 is awesome and too many people are upgrading to it for Microsoft to cut it so they are going to support it till 2020 - you should need a new PC by then anyway ;)

I'm back off holiday now  :'(
Arrived yesterday and if your flying over the UK or Europe I feel sorry for you - there is a huge amount of turbance in the air and I goto admit it's one of the worse journeys I have had - even beating some of the ships I have been on

Thanks! It felt like a long 3 years at times . How are you?

It's a pity that the forum is so quiet now, but I think that is reflection on the quality of SSE when it was released. A real shame.

Just about recovered from flying and holidays ( as I said I had real bad turblance).
It's a shame and the fact that VSTEP seems to be leaving the consumer video game market and just supportimg ship sim but how long are they going to do that for
SSE was a shocker when it was launched and that's what I think blew it Jack - a real shame

I used @AOL address when I first got SSE. I never used it untill I got my new PC beginning of this year and I needed the new password for SSE to downloaded.
I spent my whole day trying to get to it and then I had about 10,000 spam emails
That's why I use icloud
