hey does anyone know how to remove water quickly and easily? currently i'm filling the lower hull with sponges and then destroying them, but thats proving to be very time consuming.

http://steampedia.wikinet.org/wiki/Laurentic_Star_Line

Shame she can't sail, Great ship!
-
she can sail with the zeppelin mod; i will be getting it when patch 1.3 comes.
luckily, in 1.3, installing mods will be as easy as downloading a texture pack or world save, and no loader will be required.
heres the coming features, from minecraft wiki.
New slabs of the 3 new plank types.
Wood slabs behave as wood, not as stone.
Cocoa Plants that generate on the sides of jungle trees, which can be harvested for cocoa.

Empty Buckets are now stackable up to 16.[15][16]

New gravel texture or a new block for the path of Villages as seen in the preview screenshot (enhanced version).[18]
Villages can spawn in Jungle Biomes (possibly more).[18]
A new type of Golden Apple[19] with attributes the Golden Apple had before 1.1.[20]

new update: notch is adding a very exciting feature: pyramids. ;D
screenie: (http://www.minecraftwiki.net/images/f/f3/12w21a_Sandstone_Structure.png)
he says that inside it contains a room with four chests; each chest contains valuable items. but its not so easy as it seems; of course with a feature this epic, there would have to be an Indiana Jones type adventure. there is a hidden pressure plate in the room, and below that are 9 blocks of TNT.
and yes, those are sandstone stairs. :2thumbs:
1.3 will be an absolutely incredible update! ;D ;D ;D
-
I setup a world on my server for you guys if you want to build something together. ;D
I hope the mods are ok with that.
minecraft.austingratzer.com
I do have worldedit and voxelsniper installed so if I'm on I can help place large portions of material. I can also protect your builds with worldguard. Just type /help for all the commands you can do. Right now there is a max players of 8. But I hope to upgrade that soon.

This Ship is amazing (i like to use another word usually before amazing), the detail you put into it is speech-list
-
thanks glad you like it so far. ;D
also, in addition to the desert temples, notch will be adding in 1.3 jungle temples.
they are two stories high, and contain very rare blocks in survival, like chiseled stone blocks, tripwire, redstone wire, and dispensers. you must solve a lever puzzle to open a door that releases a chest containing valueable items. getting the puzzle wrong hurts you (although no info is on that yet).
-
I was just testing out 12w22a and used the 404Ever seed to try and find a Jungle Ruin, and ended up finding this:
Guess the Pyramid was generated first with the lake coming after. I also found a Desert-themed Village later on. And Note: This Pyramid's treasure has tons of Iron and Gold.

The port.
For those who didn't hear the news in the Cookiebox: this next project will be a large city that will be a mix of Milwaukee and Dover.

Ever mess around with TNT? It's alot of fun
-
Yes, TNT is being used to flatten the terrain.
What's really fun though is to make a 1x1 hole leading all the way to the bedrock, filling it with TNT, then lighting it so it makes a bigger hole. Then fill that hole with TNT, and so forth.
-
I love making TNT Cannons, and firing them. lol.
-
Sanford would love this mod...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCprjCaVYAg
-
Portal 2 was a great game!! ;D ;D I'll get the mod in 1.4 when the API is installed.
And in related Valve information, the Black Mesa mod for Half-Life 2 will arrive on the 14th, and back in July Gaben Newell said Half Life 3 will be announced in the next few months. Hopefully it will include portals because of the Aperture crate on the Borealis (lost ship in the Arctic). On Facebook Valvetime.net added a gallery of Episode 3 concept art, including possible outfits for Barney, Kleiner, the Combines, and alot of Alyx Vance.
http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.375965635802364.86003.274276235971305&type=3
Hopefully it will come soon, so I can plant my crowbar in that evil Advisor slug that killed Eli in the end of Episode 2.
-
Since singleplayer was converted to a one-player server, I couldn't use TNT. :-\ (it's my world; therefore I should be the owner and have all privileges!)
Therefore it was an excruciatingly long process of destroying the mountains. I also added lighthouses. ;D
(http://oi47.tinypic.com/207vnty.jpg)
The last sheep...
Feel free to give suggestions on the city! ;D
(http://oi48.tinypic.com/25qtddy.jpg)
The lighthouses, in RS inc. tri-blue liveries.
-
Can I join your server when you are on? :)
-
Sorry, I only know how to host an LAN server, which is great for one session but not for a large project. Plus I doubt you're in the vicinity.
-
Added docks, a ferry terminal, a cargo terminal, and a few ships.
One of the moderate-sized ferries of RS co.
Short distance ferry, loaded up and ready to soon depart to a nearby island.
A yacht parked at the large yacht terminal.
The cargo terminal.
-
Added a few structures.
The main ferry terminal and parking lot.
The back of the terminal, with the RS co. and American flags.

Umm, buildings aren't made out of wool... lol
Still, nice project you have there!
-
"no smoking"
-
Umm, buildings aren't made out of wool... lol
Still, nice project you have there!
I use wool because its the closest thing to more realistic buildings. I use bricks and wood for decoration and accenting only.
"no smoking"
After all, that's what started the great Chicago fire and the London fire. Those buildings were made of wool, right?
-
So I scrapped the large yacht (which looked sorta ugly), and replaced it with a Coast Guard base, just a small one.
And remember when I said the ferries would go from the mainland to the island? Well it turns out that...
... it is the island! On the map you can also see the roads and the leveling of the rest of the terrain.

The Coast Guard base, with large and small buoy tenders.

The detailed bridge of the buoy tender.
-
Great Progress! Also, I like to use World Edit for Flattening large areas... and blowing up tons of TNT. LLLAAAGGG
-
TNT is great for these projects, but seeing that it can fly considerable distances, it's best to level the terrain by hand.
-
That's an extremely sweet city-port. I can never create anything very large in minecraft, I always end up making a 4x4 hut with some torches and call it good
-
LOL!
I dont have enough patience to build anything big, at the moment im really into all the suvival games server
-
That's an extremely sweet city-port. I can never create anything very large in minecraft, I always end up making a 4x4 hut with some torches and call it good
I always endup crashing my PC by blowing whole biomes up...
-
That's why I play it on a Mac. iMacs are more ideal for Minecraft, but that's about it.
-
That's why I play it on a Mac. iMacs are more ideal for Minecraft, but that's about it.
Whys that?
-
I don't know. For some reason most PCs can't handle Minecraft. Amazing how picturesque games like Railworks 4 or Half Life 2 run flawlessly, but 16-bit Minecraft lags severly.
-
Your Ship would be a Brill Pvp Map you'd never find anyone in there!:P
you should make one:P
-
Don't know how. The city would also be great for PvP!
But just wait. After I'm done with the city, I might build a re-creation of the Black Mesa research facility from the 1998 game Half Life. ;D
-
Niiice!
-
Have you played it?
-
No lol I only have the hl2 Demo... But it would be nice to have something like that in MC
-
You have to get the full version of HL2! It's great! Outstanding graphics, ingenious plot, beautiful environment, ultra-realistic sounds, wide range of weapons, comedic elements, crazy plot twists, tricky puzzles, epic boss battles, and of course Alyx Vance. ;)
Plus there's the episodes, with even more plot twists, boss fights, characters, environments, and more!
All made by the prodigious Gabe Newell, God of gaming, skipped kindergarten, overweight genius!
-
Don't know how. The city would also be great for PvP!
But just wait. After I'm done with the city, I might build a re-creation of the Black Mesa research facility from the 1998 game Half Life. ;D
Has the game Half life got anything to do with the game im downloading on STEAM now called garrys mod? because when i type it in i normally get results for half life and garrys mod
-
Garry's mod is a sandbox game that has all the graphics, props, ragdolls, weapons, vehicles, effects, and NPCs of Half Life 2, but not the original.
-
GMOD is amazing! It's also the game that has taken exactly 550 hours of my life away
-
Too bad the toybox won't be in Gmod 13. At least you will be able to spawn large NPCs, ammo, and medkits.
-
GAH I know! I love the Toybox!
Do you play PERP or any DarkRP, etc?
-
Ooohhkaayyy...
got the IOS update and for some reason all of my worlds, including the city, were cleared. :-X
So now I'm building a dome! ;D
(http://oi45.tinypic.com/9la99y.jpg)
The interior. Very basic for now.
And the exterior.
-
I love building stuff underwater, how long did that take? I imagine it took at least two hours, since it's so big...
-
Around 90 minutes.
-
Oh. :P
-
New aqua domes are the futuristic way of living!

Habitation dome 1...
...and the cozy cabin within.
A mob-proof gate leads into my personal dome. More coming soon!
-
If you said mob proof, is there going to be a Mob farm? or is the Habitation dome going to be dark at night?
EDIT: Tonight I'm going to download the newest snapshot and make an endless ocean...
-
Habitation Dome 1 is also a farm with free range chickens, sheep, and cows. The gate ensures nobody visits me at untimely hours.
-
This Wednesday update 1.4, the "Pretty Scary Update" can be yours! ;D
I was going to copy/paste the update list, but it exceeded the 20,000 character limit.
-
Added two more domes, and devised a plan for them: nine habitation domes, each with a different purpose, arranged in a grid, and in the center is a tower extending out of the water, and expanding from the tower will be docks and marinas.
The three habitation domes of the third tier. That small building on the mainland is the dome management building, where all the emergency exit tunnels lead.
The desert-themed Habitation Dome 2 is used for manufacturing. The shack contains furnaces, crafting tables, brewing stands, enchantment tables, and anvils.
Inside the shack.
Yes, people will be living in the dome complex.
The chestnut wood walls give the living quarters a homely touch.
The biggest issue facing underwater glass structures is leaking. In the unlikely incident of a leak, please calmly direct yourself to the emergency exit.
While evacuating dome complex Lambda, please do not clog the hallways.
This has been a virtual tour of Tier 1 of Dome Complex Lambda, the future in aquatic living. Have a nice day! ;D

-
I heard there is an update on the Xbox version including Creative and Enderman... is it true?
-
Yep got the update a few days ago:)
-
ahh played on my friend's Xbox, but Ender Pearls don't work yet...
I have the 1.4 Pre Release update, the Wither sounds freaky!
-
Actually, 1.4 just came out this morning! ;D It is by far the biggest update ever released yet. I'll post some shots later.
-
... and later is now!

Finished outer ring on complex Lambda, next comes the central tower. ;D
(http://oi45.tinypic.com/2dumtk3.jpg)
-
Awesome! how do you get that recticle?
-
recticle
What does that mean?
-
the pointer in the center of the screen? XD In other words, what is your texture pack? I use the faithful x32 pack, awesome graphics.
-
I have a customized Painterly Pack.
-
Got some very nice work done on the central tower.

The extravagant lobby.
The tower construction will be kept as iron/glass, to keep a classy yet industrial look, and so you can observe the redstone mechanics.

Looks awesome, Sanford!
I was just playing survival in a cave.......

I heard the 2nd sound first.

Dome Complex Lambda is now 100% done, and will be ready for download as soon as Planet Minecraft gets back up! ;D
(http://oi46.tinypic.com/8tgz.jpg)
Redstone wiring was a nightmare for the orbiting light! :C But right below it is a large empty room where the downloader can place whatever he/she/it wants.
-
I see the beacon light
-
http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/dome-complex-lambda/
Now available for download! ;D
And now that I'm done, what should I build next?
-
I'm currently lost in it... it has insane lag, but the detail is amazing!
-
http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/dome-complex-lambda/
Now available for download! ;D
And now that I'm done, what should I build next?
Nice!
Maybe a skyscraper?
-
#1 What?! ;D
#2 I found the stronghold in you world!
awesome work sanford!
I suggest a massive space station, only right below the building height limit
-
Good idea. I could probably make a superflat world made of TNT with a redstone torch layer beneath it, then make a 1x1 tower to the height limit, then break one block of TNT to force a block update, so then the superflat world will destroy itself while only one tower remains for building.
-
I WARN YOU: making a superflat with TNT ready to blast, You will lag forever.
-
What could this be...
To make it look more like space, I made the atmosphere a black fog like in the End. Also I used Plotz to design the sphere: http://www.plotz.co.uk/plotz.php
-
...wow...
-
Sanford, you would love this mod! ;D
Gravity gun mod (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWDiEbULaZQ&feature=g-u-u)
(the thing from gmod and Half life.) also sorry, sky and the squid hate eachother and swear
Edit: I love the Tropicraft Mod!
-
Completed the sphere and added a few bare essentials.

Looking forward to trying out the mod!
-
Extra floor added, plus a key component.
If you were to say that the Central AI Chamber is the brain of the station, then you might also say that the new Life Support Core is the heart.
GLaDOS supply and utility room. Includes core replacement machinery, breaker room, faulty cores, and... cake.
Lighting's a little incomplete, but this is the Life Support Core, supplying water, energy, and waste control for the entire station (as for oxygen, I'll explain later).
Lobby of the Staff Housing Center, also offering a cafe, library, and observation deck.

The observation deck.
-
Beautiful work Sanford! I was thinking, in case of emergency, well nah... I was gonna say put a layer TNT around it then another layer of iron blocks... I must say, you would need ALOT of backups if you did that.
-
Explosives in a space station might not be the best idea. Can't risk the chance of explosive decompression.
-
Due to frequent computer crashes, project RS Space Station has been cancelled. :P
In a related note, what should I build next?
-
made a giant tree in MC
-
Decided to build another ship: the M/S Diamond, a ship on RS lines, where every ship is named after a mined object.
The bow design is something new that I haven't tested on any other ship yet.
Stern will be similar to Lapis Lazuli, but will have smoother edges.
Length checkpoint at stern.
-
Finished the lower hull, now for the agonizing process of spongeing.
How's the bulb look?
Night vision bubbles hog the camera.
-
Hello Rbsanford6,
Foul language is far from permitted on this forum. If you want to make a comment about it, just tell me in person, I'm sure you're Blake or Travis. ;)
The offensive post has been removed.
Traddles.
-
Wait, what just happened? Was it Rbsanford or Rbsanford6 who posted the rude comment? XD
btw great bulbous bow, looks better than my work in GSU!
-
It was just some idiot at my school.
And thanks dexter, I didn't think the bulb looked quite right.
-
Sanford, do you watch YouTube videos of MC? Like AntVenom or CaptainSparklez?
In my eyes AntVenom is the god of Survival/Hunger Games and just Single Player survival.
-
Not much. CraftedMovie's machinimas are pretty good, and Yogscast is great for watching adventure maps. CaptainSparklez is okay too.
-
Spongeing finally done! ;D
(http://oi50.tinypic.com/206zwwg.jpg)
The island will include a small pier and lighthouse.
The propulsion will be in iron tubes, acting sort of like jets. Steering will be controlled by controlling RPM to either engine.
-
So that idea didn't quite go as planned. :P But I did get World Painter, so custom terrain generation will be very easy! ;D
(http://oi50.tinypic.com/2d91ow7.jpg)
Now I can flatten terrain and create rivers for cities.
-
Also got MCEdit. A whole week's worth of spongeing done in only ten minutes! ;D
(http://oi46.tinypic.com/2afa904.jpg)
The plan for this super-yacht will be interesting. I lifted the idea from a German magazine. It will be a VLCC converted into a stylish yacht. The massive deck will include a garden, pool, and other necessities.
-
A VLCC converted into a massive Yacht... Seems interesting!
-
Finished the main superstructure. Well, not quite, yet to be done on it is windows, detailing, interiors, etc.
-
Added bollards, bow structures, outlines for deck features, and detail on the superstructure.
Take note that anvils make perfect mooring points.
The floor of the garden.
Improved superstructure.
-
Finished all deck features!
The helipad and deck chairs.
The garden. The glass roof is designed to slide open.
Another peaceful view in the garden.
The pool deck, with adjacent tennis court.
Any idea what to put here?
Now I have to work on the interior. Planned features include indoor pool, helicopter garage, library, and launch room for smaller yachts.
-
Nice!
Some Hottubs maybe?
-
Did you download the recent snapshot? I love the Daylight sensor and Weighted Pressure Plate. Indiana Jones Style!
Nice work!
-
A question about the daylight sensors: can a sensor be placed directly on top of a redstone lamp and still send a signal? And how can that signal be inverted so it's sent at night? Because I might build another city (since I now have world painter and MCedit) and I need a compact automatic streetlamp design. I'm seeing these ones on Reddit that look like huge bulks, and they're pretty ugly.
-
I have a design of one pre 13w01a/b that uses testificates, that is somewhat compact (three or four blocks tall by three blocks wide) I have a few pictures of the design down below:
Original day/night sensor w/ villagers
(http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m601/ShipSimmer/2013-01-05_214043_zps3baa26d0.png)
Redstone wiring underground (still the same)
Corners
(http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m601/ShipSimmer/2013-01-05_214238_zpscc274165.png)
Now, instead of a massive testificate home, I can have one half block!
EDIT: yes Daylight sensors can be placed on redstone lamps.
but it works the wrong way:
heres a cool design I found on reddit:

Yes I do like butter and I'm a sky army recruit
-
I hit a creative block in the yacht, so I'm spending some time in my quaint cabin on RS mountain.
This map is my side project. I recreated a plot of [fictional] Wyoming wilderness on world painter featuring a huge canyon, a mountain, a large hill, and swamplands. I'll be adding a town, mine, railroad, resort, and some state parks.
-
My most successful survival world (that is since 1.8 ):
I found much more then this, I just used them to make tools. For some reason redstone has been the most plentiful resource.
-
Gonna share a nice and decorative idea I had for storage.
Also on the topic of this forum becoming dead(ish), I feel bad because i think it is technically my fault because I rarely post on here any more and when I do it is typically minecraft or saying how boring(...) life is. :(
so I feel bad because of that...
Dexter7
-
Looks great Dex! Is that a snapshot, or was 1.5 released since the last time I checked ten minutes ago?
-
nope just 13w05a
-
Returned from my "creative vacation", and continued work on the ship with deck lighting.
I've also started work on a very exciting and challenging project, that I will talk about once the boat is done.
-
Do you like my idea for a mod in minecraft?
http://www.reddit.com/r/minecraftsuggestions/comments/18a341/minecraft_time_traveler_mod/
-
Just built a scale model of the Medical Arts building in Duluth on a plot server:
Because of the size of the plot, I had to crunch it inwards a bit, but it's still pretty accurate.
The back. For some reason, they designed the building in a way so that in order to access the emergency stairwell, you have to go out onto one of those balconies, then back inside again, which is the door (glass block) to the left. Also note how Michigan Street is one story below, to compensate for the terrain.
Plaque at the main entrance, and the front hall. Yes, in real life, the ceiling is gold leaf, and the walls contain so much detail that I couldn't possibly recreate it.
-
I made a better model of downtown Duluth on a different server.

News about update 1.6! ;D
1.6 should be released sometime around May, possibly June at the latest. Features include:
A new launcher.
Seasons and day cycles.
Hay bales will be added.
Carpets will be added.
Leashes will be added, and will allow you to lead mobs around, tie them to fences, and to bind rope from one fence to the next (realistic rigging here I come!).
Rideable horses and donkeys will be added.
Horse armor will be added, along with saddles, realistic controls (horse shows?), ability to be tamed by wheat, and ability to carry chests on saddles (however there is no inventory yet).
-
Wow, it's been a while since I (or anyone) posted here. Today I have information about 1.6 (the Horse Update).
Release date is between June 24-June 30. Here's a link to the changelog:
http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Upcoming_Features
Mojang also announced early news about 1.7. News is as follows:
1.7 will be an ocean/biome update.
Update might include new temples for new biomes.
New dimensions might be added.
-
That makes me sad that the Mindcrack server world is bound to be reset by 1.7 :(

Update on RSopolis 2:
The buildings I have so far built are actually on an island in the river flowing through the city, inspired after Paris.
Choppy letters crown the top of the RS Hilton hotel, based off of the Duluth Radisson. The walls will be completed next week, as they require stained clay.
RS Tower reaching above the mist.
The Pinolive, evidently based after Chicago's Palmolive. It even features a beacon that lights only at night.
Duluth buildings, from left to right: Torrey Building, Medical Arts Building, Providence Building. This block is not yet finished. I also plan to recreate the Duluth Government Buildings and Greysolon Plaza/Hotel Duluth.
The central fountain of Monument Park. Nearby is picnic grounds and chess boards.
One of the simple bridges spanning the river.
An underground marina beneath RS Tower. In real life I can see some problems with this, but for Minecraft it's a smart idea and will help with server compatibility. The underground canal system is still in beta stage, I might use it instead of subways.
The city from a distance, obscured by loading chunks.
-
Looks at your builds... Looks at mine... Man I cannot build
-
Oh anyone can build. I have learned that it's not about skill and detail or even volume of builds, but it's more about patience and experience. The architect who designed the Burj al Khalif started with wood blocks.
-
Well I was gonna upload a few screenshots of my Peaceful World but Photobucket doesn't want to show the images.
At least I can give you the seed: To travle the stars (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Fr0tkIhbeA)
-
Amazing seed! :2thumbs: Is "To travle the stars" the 1.5 seed?
-
What exactly do you mean by "the 1.5 seed" ???
-
I was wondering if the seed still works for the current version. Usually seeds change every update, infamous examples include "404" and "Gargamel"
-
Yeah it still works, I'm not sure about 1.6 because they are changing up deserts a slight bit, (I think that affects seeds maybe it's the file format) but A great seed that was lost in Beta 1.8 was "Glacier." Just so you know you can get old seed via Better World Generation 4.
-
Since the last city update post 1.6 has been released, and so have new buildings! ;D
(http://i.imgur.com/DoVaIPM.jpg)
The completed RS Hilton with a hardened clay exterior.

A building of unknown purposes. It contains a large atrium and roof-top observation lounge.
South End Park at the other end of the now isolated island. The golden effigy of Sears Tower (Willis Building :P) actually represents my very first creative skyscraper which was destroyed in a fire (the entire thing was made of wood).
The concrete underground parking garage below the nameless building. Wandering is my pet horse, Mackinac.
The completed Duluth block, now with the Alworth and Lonsdale buildings.
A very pointy building dubbed "the Pencil" because of the black spire encased in sandstone design.
The colorful public stables with executive suites at the top.
The New RSopolis City Hall building 1, based off of the St. Louis County Courthouse in Duluth.
Recently Jens Bergenstein (Jeb) posted on Twitter that update 1.7 may be a much needed terrain/biome update, possibly including new biomes/temples, new mobs, colored glass, new terrain, and much more!
-
Very nice work!
-
So Mojang has announced a new biome called "the Disco Mountains."
They also say that spruce trees will grow in Extreme hills biomes, "black spots" will be removed from the terrain generator, torch bugs in naturally occurring torches will be fixed, more option screens, cherry trees changing color occasionally, and something called a community oriented feature.
-
I think the Canyon Bime should Either not be implemented or have a different block than Hardened clay. It just seems CheatyNebris if clay blocks were that easily obtainable. Anyways, it doesn't seem possibe with the current terrain gen. My guess would be that it would end up looking like Extreme hills. Maybe they can code it to be Deeper and wider ravines that are slightly rounded, but again it does seem completely possible with the coding.

Awesome man. Great work thanks for sharing pics

No problem. Everyone else can feel free to share pics as well though, it doesn't have to be just me.

It's been a while since I last updated the city's progress.

Say hello to yet another Duluth building! Here we have the downtown Holiday Inn (or as it's called here, the "Holidä Inn". Get it, the A-umlaut is a creeper face? Huh? Huh? Yeah.) In real life there's a parking garage built nearby, but I decided to redesign it as a shopping mall with a garden on the top.

Meet Holiday Center. In real life Duluth it's a shopping mall and public transit hub. The actual entrance to the Holiday Inn is on the other side of the block. (IRL)

This city's hotel is actually a Minnesota themed resort called the Duluth Inn. Featured are murals, picnic grounds, a hill with pine trees (and a creek running through it), and...

... a pool in the shape of Lake Superior.

Don't worry, I promise this will be the last Duluth building... maybe...

Here is the most elegant hotel in the city, the Grand RS Suites. It's sort of a conglomerate of Earth Aqua (Chicago, IL) and the New York Palace Hotel (New York City, NY).

In this view you can see the most expensive rooms. The ones at the bottom have private garden balconies.

Finally, here is the "Red Building". Atop one tower is an observation lounge and on the other is a variety of helipads for various purposes.

Here is where the river opens into the ocean. More information about the land the city is built on will develop in the future.

Since there is a character limit, I had to post some of the features for upcoming 1.7 in this post instead of the one before.
*New biomes.
*Redwood
*Mesa
*Savannah
*Ice spikes
*Deep ocean
*New biome spawning system.
*Each biome is assigned a temperature. No biomes can spawn near each other if the temperature is too different. These temps do not affect gameplay.
*Biome fixes.
*Swamps spawn with mottled dirt formations in the water.
*Pine trees spawn in extreme hills biomes.
*New world type: "AMPLIFIED!"
*New fishing stuff.
*New fish: clownfish, pufferfish, salmon.
*You can lure in junk.
*Placing maps in item frames will make them full pictures of the map view.
*Shaders, apparently. It was released in today's snapshot.
*New plants.
*Poppies, tulips, sunflowers, lilacs, tall2 grass, tall ferns, etc.
*new biomes to accommodate new plants: flower forest, sunflower fields, dark forest.
These are all the changes I can list off the top of my head. Here's a link to the full changelog: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Upcoming_Features

I'm thinking of installing Minecraft to my computer... ::) does it worth? Is it a nice game?
-
It's very nice, you can do whatever you want with it. It's well worth the $20.00, but it might be slow on some computers.

It doesn't look like people are paying much attention to this thread anymore, but oh well. Lets get started with this update, shall we?

This building went viral on Reddit. Many of you may recognize this blade-like 1930's art deco behemoth as the GE building. But this is called the GR (General Redstone) building.

Here is the base. The tower is so thin that there was plenty of space on either side of the block, so on one side is the "Floating Forest" and on the other is a huge fountain and a tribute to the BWCAW. Note the Zeus artwork above the main entrance.

I call it "30 Blockafeller Plaza". ;D Here's an imgur album if you want to see more: http://imgur.com/a/NmFsY#0

Did I mention that 1.7 came out since I last posted? Apparently there's a new view distance, so you can see the vague malformed silhouettes of other skyscrapers from the shore.

Here is the Lambda Dome ferry port. Note the beautifully built catamarans.

This is the other side, with the corporate buildings and arrival/departure road terminal.
Does this building seem familiar? It's the RS cruise terminal 2.0. I was thinking of building a model of the SS United States or the Queen Mary here, but evidently didn't.

The improved pick up area at the arrivals terminal. Now with 80% more trees!

Number two in the "New York Series": the Mine Warner Center. This is one of the most tricky buildings to construct in the city. It took me three days just to draw out the aerial outline. It's full of crazy angles and cobalt-blue windows (which was hard to copy), but I think I might have nailed it.
