Well, I don't think that I am going to be able to get onboard.

Have you allready looked at the video on the website of the loodswezen?
I thought that you could see several peaces from the interior of the bridge in it.

And don't thank me to soon, I'll try to find her.  ;D
I know two places where she could be, biceaus I allready passed her a few times on my parents boat.
But now I am there with the car, so I'll see what I can do.

Here allready is a picture of the Perseus wich I toulk when she was in Vlissingen, a long time ago.

Hey Mad Fred.

Good news and bad news.

The good news is that I found the Cetus and that I could take some good shots.

The bad news is that I only saw her from one point and that is the bow.
And I didn't manage to get onboard biceaus the whole area was fenced.

Hey Fred.

I had to be at a school wich is only one km away from the mooring place, so it wasn't much of an effort.
And I am starting my studies for maritime officer in Vlissingen, so I  will probably allso take some more pictures in the future.

But probably the quality will be much worse, biceaus I borrowed my dad's Nikon D90 for these pictures  ;D

Anything at all is well appreciated, no matter what quality!  CAuse I might just rebuild it to proper specs after this 'test model'.  ;D

But don't go missing class on my behalf, promis me that!  ;)

so..  the model then...

I renamed the vessel, since it is so structurally different from the real thing, that I decided to make her pose as a virtual new, younger sister, working alongside the Perseus.  ;D

I kept a similar kinda feel, by staying within Greek mythology, and so she is now Christianed "Proteus", after a minor Greek sea God.

Here are some rather quickly done moonlight renders, I made some detailed shots as by some of your requests.

Can I have a shot of how it looks in SU without any "preparings to official show", please?

There are some tricky parts on it, and she hasn't been on a poly diet, nope..

The next job, apart from the interior of the wheelhouse, is to replace all the railings with low poly versions.. But I wanted to first complete it as hi-res as possible, regarding rounded shapes. A Light version should become game friendly now.

All the rails still have their skeletons in place, so easily replacable in an hour, maybe two.  :)
By doing that, plus somne cleanup work, I reckon it will end up pretty trim.  ;D

Although it is different from the original ship, you did a really good job there Mad Fred.
I really appreciate when someone is putting some hard work, efforts and demanding attitude in trying to offer something serious and realistic. Realism once aboard is the real essence of any simulator and any model sould have that essential notion in mind, which is unfortunately not the case of too many models.

In short: Well done, congratulations!

Best regards,

DVOMarineDesign (Dom).

Hey Fred.

Maybe this is a little late, but I just discovered that this weekend it is Vlissingen Maritiem.

And the Perseus and Cetus are allso ships wich join the event.

so maybe you can go onboard and visit the bridge.

Btw, your model is looking absolutely amasing!!
