Hey everyone,

I was asked a few times about the attempt to make the Perseus, that I took a while ago. And asked if I was going to continue. Unfortunatly that first attempt was not very good. So I started it again, from scratch. It's not a 100% accurate copy since I only found photo's and no plans (yet), but generally realistic enough to bare the same name allready, I reckon... Lotsa work still to be done, but it's a start.

More to follow soon, I hope.

You should go work for google and show people what sketchup can do. It is almost like the ship version of that sketchup helicopter that everyone has seen.

Thanks very much everyone, that's ever so kind!!

And nope WM,... what you see on that render is about 6 hours work..

And about 4 hours more, till this new render.. ~10 hours in it so far, if you count the trial and error bits.

Most of the last couple of hours was the 'cleaning up inside' for what I did so far. Tedious..

My previous boss fixes cars with sketchup.
He has detailed engine 3d's and looks at that and at the car. compares and fixes

I am averagely good but boatguy uptop rocks

Ryan123, no idea.. I do tend to follow the Vstep guidelines when I model, but there is of course much more to it than just a model itself. It depends very much upon my finished product, and if Vstep even wants this vessel in the game at all, to begin with.

I model purely for fun, and obviously to gain more experience. Anything more than that would be a big bonus, time will tell.

Here's a few new WIP shots.. And yeah, I know there's a few railing struts missing.. don't worry..

The Wheelhouse has had a makeover, and the liferafts were added.

very nice Fred, she's coming along very nicely. I wish it somehow could be added to the sim, I'd love to sail it.
