Hey.
This ship is just like my QM2, but I re-colored the hull and edited the names.
Why did I make a Port Authorities boat in QE2's colors?
Because Shipaddict asked me to. Thank him for this, not me =).

Place this .dds file in C:\Program Files\Vstep\ShipSim2006\Actors\act_dynamic_objects paste it there.

Question: Do VSTEP permit users to add ship owners logo and names to a repaint of a existing ship model used in Ship Simulator?
It’s obviously that I have missed something if that is true… ???

Copyright is a difficult area. I believe in cases of this kind, there may be some issues regarding permissions etc.
I may be wrong in this instance, but the copyright owners have the right to take action in cases where they think copyright has been breached.
Depends on how they decide on individual cases. As an extra point, VStep would not AND could not be held liable in matters like this ;)

Ok why don't we change CUNARD to QUNARD?! and edit the logo or something?

I just had a battle with some idiots using unlicensed photos of my vehicles.
Copyright is an automatic process. There is no need to apply. You design it, you own it. If it is provable. (Cunard could, of course).
I doubt Cunard could sue anyone for using the black and white- as was used man times elsewhere. As for queen mary 2... Was there a queen mary 2nd (real person?) I don't think you can copyright a persons name. Or I'd copyright mine and sue the backside off every other Stuart.
Probably could do you for using their trade name Cunard though.
Unless you are doing it commercially or trying to undermine Cunard, I suspect they've got other things to worry about. And I agree with DJM very little chance they could o anything to Vstep (although an ISP was sued last few years for permitting defamatory material on its servers...)

You should be careful Nub Cake, I think that if Cunard were to take legal action over the use of their name then it would be against the person that put it there.

Sorry, Captain D. What do you mean? Did you read my post or not?
I said it is very unlikely they would sue Vstep (as I agree with DJM), so obviously I refer to the person(s) who put the name Cunard on without permission.
And why would I need to be careful anyway? I'm nothing to do with it.
I still very much doubt Cunard would be too bothered if it isn't for commercial purposes. They MIGHT have sued Vstep if they did it but not an individual. Can't guarantee it though.

Yes,rights and copyrights,can go very far,even the color of the vessel can cause some trouble.If they get to court,for some copyrightsmatter,you would be surpriced,how far this can get,and how expensive this can be.

BUT... You only have copyright to things that are uniquely yours. IE A black hull with white superstructure could NOT be copyrighted as so many ships used it before. But the orange of easycruise could be as it is a distinct shade.
A complicated livery is one thing, but if Nub Cake gets rid of the Cunard logo I doubt they could do anything whatsoever.

No, it it changes the logo in a MATERIAL WAY (not sure how that translates- substantial???) then you are OK.

I really doubt they would, it's not like you're making money out of it.

Users can recreate any ship they want. As long as it is not for commercial use there usually is no problem. VStep however can't reproduce any ship they want.
