They're different. Looking back most people used to HATE Norwegian. Epic, now lots of people like it. At first everyone is always a bit put off by what's different. I think we will come round to them. Nowadays cruise lines aren't just trying to make them bigger but more economical too. I'm sure we will all come round to them eventually.

Don't quote me and say I'm talking rubbish. This is my view on things so no hate please!

My opinion on AIDAPrima - It isn't that bad, I don't like the verticle bow edge but I think its alright...

My opinion on the MSC Ships - What the...? They look real short and I don't like how the funnel is almost towards the front, and how the rear narrows  :-\ However I like the front :)

My opinion
AIDAPrima i am with danny one that one

MSC well jake wins on that one with wait and see how it turns out.

But that could all change if i am ever lucky enough to to see them for real ( who knows )  ;D

For all those haters of the how on AIDAPrima. We saw a similar concept with the New France. I didn't hear anyone mention that hull, funnels yes, hull no!

I suppose the Aida Prima is one of few cruise ships without a bulbous bow..

Strange - the Visentini boats have a similar-ish rakeless front, yet still manages a bow bulb

Do these bows travel calmer or easier as there rakeless?

Yes, she is reminiscent of some old liners, I rather like it.. (if only they would change the paint job)    ;)

I agree ;D It would be nice if it was left in that state in the image, she actually looks quite attractive like that...  ;)

I'm afraid I disagree...you can't have both the old and the modern style...

It seems like some cruise lines want to change the design of cruise ship claiming its 'revolutionary'

So far Aidaprima and the two new MSC cruise ships seem to differ slightly from the currently known cruise ship design:

What do you guys think? Do these ship look impressive or not..... :sleepy:

Another query i had was that a lot of ships recently seem to look almost identical although not from the same company, could there be a reason why everyone seems to adopt this design, (note some of these pictures are of sister ships):

Norwegian Breakaway

Norwegian Getaway

Royal Princess

Regal Princess

Britannia

Mein Schiff 3

Even Quantum & Anthem of the Seas seem to have a similar design:

It just seems like we care losing taste of what classic cruise liners should look like, i can guess QM2 was the last of its kind, oh well.

Simple - £££'s. :P That design is (supposidley) economical, fits as many passengers as possible on as many balconies as possible and doesn't look too ugly (to the general passenger).

2 years ago today was the London 2012 golden jubilee with the floatila I was in.
It's odd as the boat I was in was flying the Kirabati flag and now i got an assignment to hand in tommorw about Kiribati and global warming. Hard to think it's been a year even by the amount of work I done  :P

Fun fact: This page, if you take it to be in binary, would be 11 in base ten.
