I think it's done now, they just have to work on stuff like wiring, plumbing, walls, elevators, stuff like that. And by the looks of it there's a nice circular thing at the top (observation room? revolving restaurant?). I might actually visit again next year when it's finished just so I can visit the top. But it's unlikely, since the security there must be so extreme they won't allow flies to pass. At the old WTC foundation/memorial/museum there's a plethora of cameras. Big Brother is watching...

If i ever get a chance, i will definitely visit the One World Trade Center and the other buildings, and certainly the memorial site.

1WTC looks great as an addition to the NY skyline:

its done, this pic clearly shows its done, it will be open during the Memorial Service on September 11th.

the observation deck is a few floors below that round thing whatever it may be:

although i reckon it will take another 3 years till we see the final design (not accurate representation of 2001):

On the subject of 1WTC, how soon can we expect it in Ship Simulator? Extremes goes well into the timeframe of when the tower should be finished and open for business!

It should have maybe been added yesterday, would have been great to see that building standing there.

Huh?

Yes, that is how easy you (and not only you) think about it.

My new house just erected along the Hudson River, may that be in SSE also?!

No, I was confused as to why you suggested I add it. VSTEP has a team of very experienced modelers; I am not one of them (and SSE sold roughly as well as SS08, so I doubt they're that strapped for workers).

Also, that new house example doesn't stand because 1WTC is, as the tallest building in New York City, now indisputably one of the most iconic parts of the Manhattan skyline. The problem of including a building under construction with how the height of the building constantly changes is no longer an issue, because the thing's topped off and I don't think it even has a crane on-site anymore (if it does, it certainly won't be there for long). For a game which extends its timeframe well past 2020, it would certainly look strange for the city to be missing its newest, most visible landmark.

Then I will bring a little contestant:

These are my pictures made on the Kop van Zuid, in Rotterdam. There is the Wilhelminapier, the wharf where the cruiseships dock.

On the background there are 2 buildings. They are not in SSE. These are 'De Rotterdam' (149 meters) and 'New Orleans' (159 meters). Behind 'De Rotterdam' there is another remarkable building:

This is the tallest building in the Netherlands called the 'Maastoren, at 161 meters.

This spot alone has one of the tallest buildings in the entire country. At clear weather I can even see them out of my window (over 20KM away). The buildings I called are not in the SSE Rotterdam environment while yet they would look fabulous in the game.  :)

I'd also hope that V-Step could one day add these buildings (also some in New York maybe?).

VSTEP  is based in Rottadam.
To be honest I can't see a environmental change. I think the only update we will see is to the VSTEP offices!

I don't think the Netherlands is in need of a high-rise at the moment (profitable at least). There was a plan to build a skyscraper reaching 262 meters near Utrecht called the 'Belle van Zuylen', but unfortunately that was cancelled.

I could find a picture even.

Personally, I find this building an ugly piece of architecture.  :-\

I'm pretty sure its not difficult to build a high skyscraper, but why would they want to go up that high anyway? The biggest problem with a skyscraper at first is what to fill the floors with.

Although i would love to see some higher skyscrapers in the Netherlands, perhaps to compete with buildings in the EU like the London Bridge Shard did.

Speaking of which, the world's largest skyscraper is now under construction in China. Apparently it will contain an entire city within it including ramps connecting the stories for vehicles, and they plan to build it in seven months.
