They ordered that ferry before the credit crunch...now they say it's 50% too big for the capacity they are currently carrying

The same is true for around 90% of newbuilds at the moment, many operators in both the freight and passenger trades were seeing trade increasing and ordered new tonnage to take advantage, shortly after the orders were placed the bottom fell out of the market and a lot of ships are sailing half empty, everyone is just hanging in there waiting for things to pick up again with the thought that they will be well placed to take advantage when trade increases.
