Something you could never do with today's pop music:
« on: June 23, 2008, 00:57:33 »

Put it on a musical staff. Most of the stuff that's popular with kids today consist of a lack of musical pitches, but rather more of a chant as far as singing goes, and/or precusion as far as music goes, making it impossible to put it on a musical staff like what is done in the link below:

(The song played is "Gourmet Race", which is sometimes regarded as the theme song of the Kirby series of Nintendo games. It debuted in Kirby's first game, "Kirby Super Star" in 1996 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System/Super Famicom.)

Indeed. Even for their now old age, their music was VERY memerable and complex.

The most recent form of the song that popped up was a metal remix that showed up in "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" for the Wii. The song can be heard here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=5KKW3MT-8PU

(I have that game and love it. Not to mention "Super Smash Bros." for the Nintendo 64 and "Super Smash Bros. Melee" for the GameCube.) (Yep, that's right, I have every Super Smash Bros. game ever made and released 8))

I love that meme ;D

Also, who knew "Gourmet Race" and Snoop Dogg's "Drop It Like It's Hot" synced so well?

http://youtube.com/watch?v=wXzg0D-cKds WARNING! Snoop Dogg's song contains severe language and drug and sexual references. (On the MTV video, he can't complete a line without being censored!)

This is the ONLY time I listen to ANY rap ;D

Rap is also a perfect example of a music genre that cannot be written on a staff.

More like screaming or chanting.

The ones that actually sing are most often literally [orientation reference removed]!

Same with my brother.

He likes death metal.

One of his songs, I think it was by Black Sabbath, made me afraid to be in my own house!

First, find a way to put it on a scale without having a "x" attached to the stem (a beat on a procussion instrument) for every note in the song, then we'll talk :P

I mean, precussion is nice, but you have to have SOME music in there, too!

And stop spitting on the mics, you'll make them short circuit or something one of these days :P

Who would want to use a sticky, slobbery microphone? Seriously! The thought makes me queasy!
