It's fantastic. Better than anything I've ever seen. It looks better than the movies that are actually shot in 3d.

I went to see it a few days ago, and to be fair, it was one of the best movies I have seen as of late. I'm not into the story of Jack and Rose at all, but the story of the ship itself is what interested me, and for that, the movie was still very much enjoyable. You know you're watching a good movie when a room full to the brim falls utterly silent.

There have been quite some documentary's about the Titanic lately.
One thing that puzzled me was that when the helmsman was given the order "Hard to starboard" to avoid the iceberg, he turned the wheel to port..
Maybe some of you noticed it too. I just googled it and found this plausible answer

Hard to starboard and hard a' starboard are not the same order. Hard a' starboard is what was given on Titanic if I remember correctly.

I'm talking about the actual ship, not necessarily the movie. It could be a case of confusion of dialogue.

Hi SD,

I believe that's true, although that's only what I've read on the internet, so I can't be 100% sure. Angus/Eric will probably know.

Hello,

Angus and Eric can certainly confirm the meaning of the order and the reference of SD, and you can also read the reason of the apparent inconsistency in this reference.. It was already discussed in this forum mid-2007.

Regards,
Luc

Here's a pretty good animation, though I don't much care for the commentary by James Cameron which I feel is pretty cold and technical..
