!Congratulations!
Well Ladies and Gentlemen, we're finally here!
We first started our journey (after having to turn around once to check we'd turned the gas off & closed the front door) 4 years and 26 days ago, just before midnight, with the allmighty Mad_fred at the helm. And boy! What a journey it's been!

We've had new crew join us, old ones stick around, and occasionally the odd unwelcome robot aswell. Unfortunately however, we've also lost a few of our rag-tag crew along the way - Including our old Administrator - Terry Russell. May they forever have fair winds and following seas.

We've seen youngen's blossom and cast off to start a career on the big ol' blue! (Jack, I'm looking at you here...) How many other forums and topics can boast that, eh?
There's been the odd argument and more swearing (well, red asterisks) than would be considered healthy for every day consumption, but it was all in the name of fun. We've been visited by a Swedish tomato who liked to "tooooooot" alot, a Dutch sailor who also occasionally grumbles and yells about trains, We've been visited by a man who seems to be obsessed with everything ferry related (who's now a qualified naval architect, don't ya know!) and Wave Music who was always... Well, Wave Music?!

We've started countless trends, and adopted the odd one or two aswell! Who could forget the the rainbow text, the really small font sizes, 'sı sıɥʇ ɹǝʌǝʇɐɥM and the "Officially unofficial Ship simulator forum advent calender"? Yes ladies and gentlemen, we really have seen it all, or have we? I don't know, but I do know we're bound to find out!

Here's to the next 1,000 pages!

I'm currently using the free version until I get the hang of it.
Licenses cost around €1500,- for the pro version, which is quite cheap opposed to engines like CryEngine who demand 20% of the game's revenue when in commercial use.

The free version includes enough content to create a good concept with. In fact, I believe you may use it to create small earning titles below €100.000,-

Btw, congrats on opening the 1000th page!

Either C# or a version of Javascript called "Unityscript". It also supports Boo,

It must be a sign.  ;)

Unity does indeed feature CSharp as well as Javascript and several other languages such as Boo. But for the most part only C# and JS are being used. I guess because they are simply most widely used/applicable.
