Such a model is often not an optimized and usable game model though, unfortunately.

Plus Vstep doesn't own it, and no one will just give it to them either.

But, I was serious. Why would they put in T2, and not just T1? That has far more value, historically seen. Solas doesn't come into it, those that want titanic don't play that seriously anyway. They're too busy counting rivets.  :P

And, would the T2 model not be just as heavy as the T1 model and not be included for the same reason we're now missing the original?

I'm not raining on your parade, but it's a little silly to choose a replica over the real thing. The real thing would always be a better marketing choice to include.

Right, but I think one of the main things about SSE is the time setting: modern day, specifically 2010, when the game was released. I think T2 would make more sense in the setting. Maybe if 1912-era Southampton and New York were modeled, the good-old Titanic I would fit in better.

And maybe more 1912 era ships as well! ;D

Not to sound cliched, but what a long, strange, trip it's been.

In addition to what's been said above, Titanic II also has the advantage over Titanic of potentially acting as a transition into Chinese harbors, as she is going to be built in a shipyard along the Yangtze river ;D

Titanic II also has a helicopter pad for mission creators to play with ;)

... Speaking of which, how do I park a helicopter on a ship helipad? I never figured that out on the SSE Mission Editor!

Someone above talked about the Titanic being one of the worst ever maritime disasters, I have just seen a book adevrtised called something like "In Titanic's Shadow" with the stories of (I think) 80 maritime disasters worse than Titanic with a little prelude about how peoples' fascination with that one event has overshadowed much more serious disasters which happened before (and I believe after)

Being in the top 100 of maritime disasters is enough to classify it as "one of the worst maritime disasters" in my books... Would you like me to edit the post to say "was in the top 100 of nautical disasters" instead?  :P

As far as I'm aware, the biggest peacetime disaster to date was the sinking of the MV Doña Paz on the 20th of December 1987 following a collision with the Motor Tanker Vector. More than 4,000 people lost their lives that day.

Titanic is the 7th biggest peacetime disaster.

How do I park a helicopter on the stern of a ship in the SSE mission editor? All I can do is move the thing in two axes, without being able to parent it to a ship and without being able to raise the chopper on the Z axis.

See attached notes, this should help you. Best advice i can give you is make a test mission and play around with it until you get a right. And its not easy until you know what your doing, that's why i say make test mission.
Good luck.

Me too, but after the server issues have been solved by EA

It's a bummer that you need a permanent internet connection to play it  :(

Hows you Tomato? Still driving that battleship sized Volvo?  ;D

I am at home at the moment, but I hope to go sailing again shortly. I've been busy with studying for my master's license. On monday I have the last exam for now  :)

Ah, springtime. When a young man's fancy turns to thoughts of Great Lakes Shipping.  ;D

That's right! Today the season opened up again!

By the way, how is the new SimCity? I might get it.
