Absolutely!  I paddle up and down the same 40km or so of coast all the time, usually around 3 times per week when I am on leave and I have never had the same experience twice, different sea conditions, different wind direction / strength, the sun shining from a different direction on the volcanoes, I love it when it is flat calm and I can just admire the scenery, but I love it just as much in a storm when I can't take my eyes off the next huge wall of water coming towards me.

It is connected to the water CC :)

The bit at the front is the 'cow catcher' (dont take it too literally now)

The Red marker buoy looking thing, IS a red marker buoy  ;D

I was all confused about the background to those, until I realised you were in Ballylumford, do you not get a better view from Larne?

Good morning all.

Here is the answer of your question.  ;) Many Ferries have that.

I found that in wikipedia:

European Endeavour's 'cow catcher', a metal structure welded to the bow to support the bow ramp when deployed, was demolished and significant damage was caused to the linkspan.

Clanky - yeah the Larne side is better, but just to get a different view for Jacks arrival. Ballylumford is good as you get a better view for all the docks, wereas Larne side is good for the Seatruck berth.

The causeway's cow catcher was broken off and bust part of the berth in bad weather, but it was repaired a while ago

Btw №2, whatever happened to mvsmith?  I see he's gone (deleted his account) just like he did it in June of 2009...   Then he came back in October that year, now he's gone again.  Personal/family issues I guess?
