Portsmouth (UK) is most likely where they set sail from...

If thats true then the colonists are the least creative people EVER! They left "The Old World", England,Hampshire county, the town of Portsmouth then when they arrived in "The New World" they named a town Portsmouth, in the state of New Hampshire, in a region called New England!

You have to look at it differently..

First, they'd have been proud of where they came from..  but..

Imagine going away from home. To a 'new' country, never to come back again.

Everything there is different, the surroundings, the climate, the challenges. It's very easy to understand that people would get very homesick perhaps, or depressed even. Such vast new lands, so many things left behind.

So, they named the things around them with familiar names. They stuck to old habits, traditional dress, they kept singing the old songs, reading the old poems, to identify with home, which they missed.

They just wanted to feel at home, that's all there is to it, I think..  that.. and pride of their old country..   ;D

I prefer page 400 because if you divide it by four you get the number of posts I've made!
100th post!!!!

You would have thought with 400 tries beforehand that Harland and Wolffe could have got it right that time around!

White Star should have had her built in Korea.

Excuse me kind people for asking, but something has intrigued me.

(I might get a slap on the wrist for asking this too )

But... are there any cheats in SSE?
Not that I cheat normally of course, just hidden things you know like easter eggs or such!

Kind Regards

Matthew
