I've been on the HSS when it was in Harwich, they're pretty impressive machines, just not much to do onboard :-\

I heard one of them came back to the UK recently, do you know why?

Some people pay good money to do that...

Cunard have a 112 day round the globe trip for £110,000

Stena Explorer recently came back to Holyhead, as Stena Lynx III is back on the Fishguard route

Hi clanky

If i had to get from Scotland to Northern Ireland, it would not be on Stena's pax ferries.
Highlander and Causeway are better in my humble opinion ::)

Have never been on Stena's Irish sea ro-pax's, sailed on the HSS as a punter and on the Highlander and Causeway as second engineer briefly, they are nice ships.

Haven't been on the ...... the...... the new one ::) (the name escapes me ) The Cal just seems very worn out and odd looking from the outside :-\ 9 times outta 10 it works out cheaper to go Larne - Cairnryan on the Highlander, compared to Belfast - Stranraer on the Cal.

Ah yess the Nav

If you look at her she dips in the middle. Surely it would be better to get something more ro ro friendly?

But its not just Belfast Stena, i have been on the Explorer and the Adventurer from Dun Laoghaire and Dublin.

Assuming she follows the Caledonia, the dip is to allow a ramp  between decks suitable for lorries to drive up.

Wonder what's going to happen to the Stena Leader and co? They have a lower capacity than more modern ships, and they must be expensive to maintain and run at 35 years old...

I meant the Cal dips in the middle ;)

DONT LET JACK SEE THIS :o
I had heard rumours that they were going to be replaced a year or two ago by North Sea tonnage, but nothing happened.
