Evening guys, sorry to post and run earlier, but the kids wanted to go out, so have been at Eden Camp all day.

Great place.

Eden Camp? What is that?

http://www.edencamp.co.uk/

It's an old PoW camp converted into a museum about wartime Britain, focusing more on the UK during the war years than the actual war itself.

All of the old prisoners huts have been converted into a separate exhibition.

Eden Camp! I was supposed to go there last year on a coach trip but not enough people booked so I couldn't go...I was going to go this year myself though!

What is it like?

A real good day out if you are interested in history.  It focusses more on life in the UK during the war(s) rather than the actual war itself, but there is also a section on the history of various conflicts.  Probably takes about 3 -4 hours to do it properly, plus any time to eat if you plan on it (food is fairly good and reasonably priced, there are also indoor and outdoor picnic facilities)

Busses run from Leeds or York to just outside the camp, or you can get the train to Malton and walk from there (about 30-45 minutes walk)
