What kind of vessels would you like for Ship Simulator?
-
Hi Anov,
I voted for more passanger ships as I would really like to see such ships in the game. Probably not the SS08 verson but maybe the SS09 or SS10 verson.
Anyway this is one paticular cruise ship I'd like to in the game. The P&O Pacific Sun.

Bon Voyage,

Greetings,
I voted others, because we need lots of different vessels in the game.
Regards
Marc
-
I think cargo and if here was a second choce Tankers. I think we need more inland cargo and tankers though. But some large ones would be nice also. ;D
-
We need ocean going salvage tugs as well as
other great vessels ::) :(

Hey, the good old Carnival Cruise Liner JUBILEE!

Isn't the Fairmount Sherpa allso a ocean salvage tug?
-
not sure it's an anchor handling
-
Well, I know that but I don't think that it can't do the same things as an ocean salvage tug.
-
I like passenger vessels. ;)
-
Yes the Fairmount Sherpa can be used as an ocean tug (possibly used for salvage), an anchor handling vessel, and a offshore supply vessel.
-
I think we need a Bunkering-vessel
cheers ;)
-
I like navy ships. If you make a Frigate (Hr.Ms.de Ruyter for example) and an auxillary vessel (Hr.Ms.Amsterdam for example ) you coult do provisioning missions at sea. (see photo) ;D ;)

I would like some more cruise ships and then some of the biggest cruise ports in the world and then some bunkers to get them fueled also, and my favorite cruise ship i would like to have added is the not yet build Celebrity Solstice, not a beauty but yes a big on 122.000 GT

In the future I would like to see a hangar ship, a destroyer and a car carrier (not sure what they are really called). There is one more, but I forgot what its called.

Hahah, that would be awesome! ;D

I was Hoping for the Stena HSS as it is no longer on the Harwich to Hoek Van Holland route as they are sitting near the Harland and wolfe shipyard in Belfast not sure what they are going to do with them as at the moment they are acting as Reserves for the ones up here when they go to the Repair yard to be Refitted and Annual Overhaul :)
-
I voted for tugs and here are my reasons:
Since VSTEP released what kind of ships the SS'08 would get I proposed the integration of tugs with Voith-Schneider or pod/azimot/schottel propulsion. This is interesting and challeging to stear / manouver.
Here are some examples

Am I the only one who would like to see some sail boats, tall ships would be great.
-
Hello Alaska and welcome to the forum
No you aren't the only one to suggest sailing ships, but ss is gearing up more for motor powered ships (who can say for the future though...).
I think making sailing ships handle correctly would probably take a lot of development time. Maybe if they try to make large ferries/cargo ships handle correctly and accurately AND sailing ships it may make the programme a little too cumbersome?

In the future I would like to see a hangar ship, a destroyer and a car carrier (not sure what they are really called). There is one more, but I forgot what its called.
I see you used som norwegian/english. In norwegian it's called a "Hangarskip" but in english it's called a carrier, the second one is right, the third one is called a "bilferje" in norwegian and "Roll on-roll off" (RORO) ferries in english (strange word :-\ . See Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferry#Ro-ro) if you don't belive me)
EDIT: About the last one you don't remember, write it in norwegian and mabye I can help

What kind of vessels would you like for Ship Simulator?
hello, sorry for my writing, it's bad, but i'am trying also,i like to see small cargovessels like a SPITS 39X5.10 and a KEMPENAAR 50X6.60 greetz frank
-
Inland vessels, offcourse! ;D
I don't know what every-one has with cruise-liners, tho. I like them, but i wouldn't know, why we would need a lot of them.
And like MarcStrat said, we just need more other vessels, not more of the same. ;)
-
Other vessels got my vote. Variety, variety, variety. :)
Water Weasel
-
I would love to see the Stena HSS Voyager which sails from Belfast to Stranraer. There are pictures of it on www.simplonpc.com. Another cool boat would be the P&O Portsmouth Express. Or maybe the Brittany Ferries Normandie Express. They are all passenger vessels.
Nathanael
-
As I already mentioned on another thread, I would love to see some Push Boats, an barges on the game!
I think that is a type of vessel/mission that is still missing on the game.!
Regards,
-
yeah a push barge would be cool, also a crane barge and of course naval vessels.
-
I voted for tugs because they are most challenging to control. Yes there is a harbour tug and since SS08 also an anchor handling vessel, but still I miss some modern tugs. What could all the big ships help when you can't handle them in harbours realistically? ;)
-
I voted for others because we need some more variety in the game. As well as the huge ships we also need some smaller boats. I think we NEED some wooden boats in the game. Things like classic wooden cruisers and fishing and sailing ships (with engine not sail).
I think VSTEP could make this game huge with constant environments and ships. Keeps the game fresh ;)
-
maybe, some more inland ships, like container ship en all of that
-
What kind of vessels would you like for Ship Simulator?
How about an RNLI Severn class lifeboat in a force 8 gale?
-
How about an RNLI Severn class lifeboat in a force 8 gale?
I think this game would benefit HUGELY with a lifeboat of some sort. I think it should be one of the next ships they release (probably not in the patch but a downloadable ship in the future)
I really do think we have enough container ships though. We already have one huge one. Why do people keep asking for them?? We need some wooden boats or some fishing trawlers of some kind.
-
we should have a hydrofoil one day. And Some more steamtugs and other steam boats/ ships. KM

I would like to see Color Line ships! :D
I love Color Line's Ships! :D

Mississippi River push boats (called "Tows" even though they push, not tow).

Would love to see the old Ferry's between Breskens and Vlissingen.
Ships like the prins Johan Friso and the Koniging Beatrix :)
-
If there were two voting ops then i'd put passenger and other:
Car carriers!
-
Combine them and you have RORO ships like i named above :)
-
I think it would be great if there was a paddel steamer or usa river boat ;)
-
How about the SS Shieldhall, 52 years old steam propulsion and still in regular service. See www.ss-shieldhall.co.uk for details of the ship. It's normally tied up on Number 47 Berth in Southampton, so should be visible when you go in and ouit on the Red Funnel Ferries.
-
I want a more older cargo ship! But i want most is a small car ferry or something, more fun to drive in hig sea wid! :P Some thing like this!
-
What we need are small passenger ferries!
A good example would be:
The Halifax III is one of three identical small passenger ferries which travel back and forth across the Halifax Harbour in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada. Each carries 300 passengers on two levels (inside and upper deck), are double-ended side-loading with two Voith Schneider propellers at either end.
Now that would be kick arse awesome to have in the game.
-
lol, funny and small ferry! :) I want a small car ferry, like my last post! :)
-
I would like something like this:
I toulk this picture on the River Thames this summer. (sailing to Queensborrow)
-
What about some submarines?????? ???
-
Hi,
I'm new to SS08. I placed a vote for Passenger ships, but would like to clarify that my preference would be for other "Vintage" passenger liners. (Queen Mary, Brittanic, Queen Elizabeth, QE II, for example...especially with the QE II having been sold and soon to be ritired to a floating "hotel" in Dubai.)
Yours,
:)
P.S. Many of these would require 4 channels for control of 4 engines, or at least tandem control of "2 pair" of engines.
Congratulations on SS08. I'm loving it. :D
-
maybe that little sub alvin
-
i would like a high speed ferry like a superfast ferries or other ones
here are pictures:

I vote for Passengers vessels. Because I like passenger. Personally i hope to able see this ship add in future.

By the way few year ago like ummm 3 or 4 year ago My best friend and I has been work on wild idea design of passenger ship that happen to be submarine as well (Ship and Submarine in one design) But sad i dont have that file anymore. I dont know if i could recreate... Ummm oh yeah what program you guys use that design a ship cuz i would have try again anyway here picture.

I would like to see passanger vessels like these two both which I have been on.
-
:) :) :) :)
old fashioned steamers (Libertys, Victories, Empires, Hansa Types)
Rescue boats (Swedish Types, Arun, DGzRS)
Fishing Ships (Side trawlers, Sterntrawlers,Steam Loggers, Euro_Kotter)
but not so much shoe boxes with head (modern Ferries and Cruisers) the didn`t have
character and no "soul"
-
What Hering said, older ships would be a great addition for SS08.
And ofcourse INLAND-SHIPS!!!!! ;D
-
I vote for others, because I like to see inland barges, tankers and cargo and also push barge and tugs.
-
in the future i would like to see a "PADDLE BOAT" lol
How about a paddle steamer. I remember a paddle steamer called SS Ryde, she was a passenger ferry running from Portsmouth to Ryde in the late 60's, very hard to handle, when it was going astern we had to use a bow rudder as you can not use the paddles to steer and there was next to no steerage from the stern rudder.

Traddles: You hitted the nail there! That's a type of ship i would really like to see in SS08. :)
-
Hello Eemspoort,
I sailed on this one in 1952! as Cadet. She had no radar,no gyro compass AND no Wheelhouse or auto pilot, but she was one of the happiest ships I sailed on. The crew came from Barbados and the cook made the best macaroni cheese ever :P ;). She was sunk at Suda Bay, Crete during the last war, salvaged by the Germans and renamed "Pluto" and then sunk again by RAF bombers in Trieste, Italy. The Royal Navy had her salvaged again and she was taken over by the British government as "Empire Wily" and eventually sold back to the Harrison Line of Liverpool and re-named "Dalesman". In her holds you could see British, German and Italian steelwork. What a history! ;D
-
"Dalesman" was built by Lithgows on the Clyde in 1940, 3 cylinder triple expansion steam engine with Bauer-Wach exhaust turbine. Service speed 14.5 knots, Cost at time of building? A whole £186,000.
-
14,5 knots? That ain't to bad at all! :o
But, on-topic, i do have a ship in mind for SS08.
She is one of my all-time favourite ships, the Great Laker SS "Edward L.Ryerson"
I really like the old-style Lakers, they are beautifull ships. The "Ryerson" is uniqeu, because it's the only Laker, that has "designed" super-structures. Most lakers are pretty straight forward, but the "Ryerson" has very nice details, like the stack, the masts, etc.
For exsample, an "ordenairy" Laker: MV "Frontenac" (before conversion to self-unloader)
Allthough not as detailed as the "Ryerson", i still find this a beauty as well. :)

Hey, I would love to see some millitary vessels, eg a destroyer or cruiser in ship simulator 08. and i understand that ship sim is a non combat sim, but the ship would not have to be able to fire etc, but just a skin (alot like the military aircraft addons in flight sim x) just a suggestion as it would be pretty cool.
regards,
Joe
-
A PCTC would be great! Fits to all harbours. ;)
-
;) :) :( > :) :) :)
more as this Pure Car / Truck carriers i would prefer a heavy cargo ship like the " -fels" class of DDG Hansa
-
Hi Hering,
Would one like this be OK. Two 250tonne SWL Stulken derricks capable of lifting 500tonnes when used in tandem with a lifting beam.
-
:) :) :) :) :) :)
ves, sir
NICE SHIP
was she aconversion of a Victory?
-
Hi Hering,
No she was not a Victory conversion. Built by Doxford & Sunderland Ltd, at Sunderland, UK, Delivered 1972. 8 cylinder Sultzer engine, 18 knots service speed. Cost £2,387,803. Eventually sold to Thai shipbreakers as "Christina J." in 1994 and broken up at Bangkok.
-
Heavy lifts are much more interesting than talking cargo! (passengers that is)!!! :P ::)
You can see what I mean here.
-
talking cargo! (passengers that is)!!! :P ::)
Hehe, nice description ;D
-
Navy units would be great, with independent illumination, moving elevators and radars, anchors, satellite small boats, etc etc. Nimitz and Kitty Hawk class.
-
:) :) :) :)
to wish is one thing, to get another
ithink we shouldnt set claims so high,
shipsim is a game and in game for common users who havent´higend computers für thousends of euros or pound or dollars it has to be playable
iknow something about highdsea fishing in the baltic and i know in the darkness ligths on board were reduced to the minimum for better seeing.
not serious: if the designer of ships for this game updated the TITANIC i wish a smoking fourth funnel and 200- 300 stokers.
-
hering,
I'm sure the fourth funnel was a dummy put there to make her look more powerful and beautiful!! That is why there is no smoke.
-
:) :) :) :)
hallo Traddles
I know, therefor :not serious
as far as i know the fourth funnel was a shaft vor a ventilator for engine room.
-
What kind of vessels would you like for Ship Simulator?
I would like an LPG (liquidlized petronic gas) carrier, because LPG carriers are my favourite kind of vessels.
-
Wasn't the fourth funnel where they would put the pets, or am I mixing things up...? :)
-
Wasn't the fourth funnel where they would put the pets, or am I mixing things up...? :)
As a guess, I would say you are mixing things up.
I always understood that there was a SMALL amount of smoke in stack 4 from auxiliary engines and the like. Again, I too could be wrong. It happens.
Stu
-
I would like to see this ship ;)
-
Olympic -all Vstep will have to do is change the name on the Titanic texture lol, oh and add her Wartime livery too.
Britannic -in her Hospital ship colors and a fantasy regular White Star livery as if she survived the war and re-entered service. Like a new feature if you are sucessful in saving Britannic during the War or any ship from it's "Doomed mission" You have access to its other Liveries. Sounds good to me.
Lusitania -both versions Green stacks with a yellow stripe down the side of the ship and the regular Cunard colors

Mauritania -in Cunard livery, Wartime livery and her White cruise-livery

Cargo ship's as Bulk carriers medium size ( 220m and or 250m long) are welcome.
Also tugs ASD and or VS.
Cheers
-
I like to see some Customs or Coastguard ships in it. The dutch customs have some nice ships. The "Mantelmeeuw" or "Zilvermeeuw" for the Rotterdam Harbour and the "Visarend" or "Zeearend" for the Nordsea. If you do i have some good ideas for missions. Pls put them in :) ;)
-
The Visarend and Zeearend would be great in the game!
-
Maybe a ULCC (Ultra-Large-Crude-Carrier) or a V Plus
Like Jahre Viking (Knock Nevis)
-
I would like a passenger catamaran like the one on this picture.
It can take 300 passengers and have a cruise speed at 34 knots....i know we already have the Red Jet but I would like to have this one to :)
-
I want logos hope and Smyril
-
i really like big passenger vessels, particulary the freedom of the seasm and liberty of the seas which are currently the world's largest cruise ship. It would make my playing experience so much more fun

I definately agree with him if we have ships like the ones from MSC = military sealift command . we can do underway replenishments online and on mission.. heres a link that you guys can look at to look for model types. hope this gives some new ideas http://www.msc.navy.mil/inventory/inventory.asp?var=name 8)

Waht catamaran is it ,"Elbestar" ???
How drive his catamaran ???

-
Well, I think I it would be great if Smyril would be in the game. The ship is a masterpiece.
-
I would like to see this ship ;)
This one would be great, because we don't have any RoRo's right now! Well, to be honest, I asked the delopers about this vessel, because they got it within their own animation. I can't believe, but the very first answer was: "What kind of vessel should we have?" ::)
Hopefully they can re-animate this one for us sometimes! (Here is a model of it pictured...)
Cheers
-
Waht catamaran is it ,"Elbestar" ???

Nope, it's a Norwegian flagged one, but very similar to the "Elbestar" perhabs. Guess both are made by Fjellstrand?

soo true we could definately use more tugs for ship assist and different types of tugs especially the Voith-Schneider propulsion tugs... so tugs and underway replenishment vessels. and maybe even do a sim of the panama canal I think that would be super awesome for everyone to experience this some how even if they have never transited the canal before...
-
I would like a WWII victory, or liberty cargo ship
-
i would love to see some fishing vessels, that is why i can't wait for the new add-on as it has the "Northern Star" in it (a fishing vessel) and i love the idea of the new classical yacht.
-
I would like to see one of the mersey ferries.
-
Hi m8's,
What is wrong with you all....? ;D We need urgently a dredger and some barges to carry away the spoils... and then some moveable cargo - until then not much need for more vessels... :D
"MS Magnus"
-
It wood be nice too have a vessel that can bunker other vessels in de harbor or some puschboots that can push some barges .
It makes a lot of game pleasure just like we do now with the tug and the seegoing vessels too assist them,
the pictures are coming from Google.

Hi m8's
Dredger and splitt-barges... it's a must in almost every port environment...
- and for the environments, more oil jetties for the Lattitude.

-
it would be great to see some old ww2 battleships.in the next ship sim......somthing like the bismark would be nice and also some ships that you can turn the lights on
p.s. an aircraft carrier...........
-
It would make me verry happy to see a reefer(is that what they are called in english, the ones that carries banas etc) and a mid size RoRo that only takes trucks and trailers like Stena Foreteller and of course more general cargoships. The Agile Solution in New horisons are so good looking, more ones like that.
-
I was thinking more the traditional ships/boats, like the furie for example, there again i am a traditional person. I'm Irish, i play an accordion, and i love ships. Can't get more traditional than that Har Har :D ;D

-
some errv vessels like the dutch owned company vroon has some newbuildings that are cool they hav 2 bowthrusters and azimuth thrusters
-
some medium-sized cruise vessels like the ships from easycruise (easycruiseOne, easycruiseTwo and easycruiseLife) look at my signature :) and definitly an icebreaker like the russian nuclear icebreaker Yamal.
maritiem
-
Hi m8's
I will vote for any of your suggestions for new vessels, but if we do not soon get some more interactivity as cargo handling and f.ex. dredging, bouy handling etc. then I will pack SS away until this happens, as it is now it's boring to the extreeme.
A possibility to join a shipping company and transport cargo of various kinds would be a much needed addon...
"MS Magnus"
PS: The new servers must improve, as is there is only a few with anybody on, a fine Dutch with 8-10 players, all tugs..?!! an American with only quite young folks - and a for me a complete waste of time: an Ocean Server with guys trying to sink vessels in different ways - I mean come on, can't somebody set up a server with some structured action where coorporation and realism rules...?
PPS: Trust me, I really do love the idea of a Ship Simulator, but it must contain a bit more than just sailing around, and yes I know there is missions, but for all I care they can dissapear, I'm only interested in MP.
-
the vstpe marsellie server used to haave alot of things happening on it but vstep servers have been down for a cuple of days

-
who wants to know what ship i want as an addon? ok my ship i want is the R.M.S. Queen Mary 2 (QE2).
Do you mean QM2? QE2 would be Queen Elizabeth 2 ;)
-
I would also like to se a LNG carrier, my father is captain on one.
-
sorry it just i never know abbreviations yet
-
i live close to boston and my dad works close to where they dock the lng tankers in boston harbor. Minime, does your father ever bring them into boston? They're awesome ships.
-
I would like an add on that will have more commands for the ship and 20 more buttons avalible to operate each vessel. And every time you would chose a ship/boat the engines will be off, and you would have to go through this process to start them or shut them down.Trust me on this one, if you have FSX you know what im talking about ;), this is must have.
-
I've always been a big fan of the early ocean liners in the 1900's - 1940's era. So I would say one of my biggest wants for add on vessels would be more classic era ships. The Lusitania would be a cool add on. Also a classic era cargo ship would be a nice addition as well.
As you can see, I am all about vintage ships haha
-
lots of people what some of the old ocean liners. a time where everone traveled by ship
-
Any of the Incat vessels. I love high speed ferries, especially Incat Wavepiercers. Like these:
-
hehe the isle of man steam packet company have bought HSC Incat 050 from austrailia. its taking over HSC viking's job so im going on it. i love the look of them, id like one of them in SS08
-
I would like to see large vessels such as the Knock Nevis ;D 8)

i am totally agree with you, then you finally have to do something instead of just stearing the ship.
what also would be cool is if we should get a dredger that you can really spread out the water out the nozzle.!.

hey, i just remembered a crude carrier we can put on the next ship simulator........the edmund fitzgerald but you ban call it big fitz

I forgot! I want to see some "Targa"-ships. The Targa 31 or something like that.

-
What about one of the Brittany Ferries. I took one long ago from Plymouth- Brittany overnight. Twas nice ;D
-
Sorry only just joined the forum but would like to add my suggestions. I voted for passenger ships, but I would particularly love to see a traditional coastal passenger steamer such as the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company post war steamers or perhaps the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society ships Waverley and Balmoral.
-
I would love to see more passenger ships in SS09 like the SS Normandie (most beautiful ship ever), RMS Queen Mary, Aquitania, QE2, QM2, Freedom of the seas and Color magic.
I think Vstep should really add these as they really are some of the greatest ships of all time. Maybe get rid of a couple of those smaller vessels like the police boat etc because to me they all look very simular.
Actually in ship sim 2009 I'd like to see Miami/Fort Lauderdale and Felixstowe/Harwich (Uk's largest container port) in the game instead of Padstow and hamburg north sea.
-
Paddle Steamer Preservation Society ships Waverley
I know the Waverley! My Granny lives in a cottage along Loch Goil. It passes through that loch! Yeah, it would be cool to have it.
-
Hello m8's
Here is a list of vessels and environments that would be fine to have, and a bridge that it would be great if someone would built and sell for say 2.500$... ;D
"MS Magnus"
-
If in SS there will be a lot of passenger vessels, like big liners, ferries, fast ferries & so on, it'll be then some kind of a "Cruise Simulator" :P :-\ >:(. Ok, i don't mind that. But please, pay attention to the other different types of ships, like floating cranes, dredgers, oil recovery tugs, salvage vessels & others.
As for me, I think it'll be great to have in SS such crane ships like these:
http://www.shipspotting.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=587832
http://www.shipspotting.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=559925

http://www.shipspotting.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=725299
....or you think, liners & ferries are better?
-
Irish Ferries M/V Ullysses and M/V Stena Britannica.
-
Ok, let it be "Cruise Simulator" then ;) :P
Both of the ships i mentioned are not cruise ships. There is only 1 cruise ship in Ship Simulator 2008 right now anyway. You should be calling it "Container Ship Simulator"
-

I belive we should have a ballanced mixture of vessels, and there is a lack of more special vessels - cruise and passenger vessels are fine, but does not ad much to the simulator as long as there is no passengers and vehicles to transport... so yes I also vote for more special vessels - lets hope Llamalords Dredger come into the game some lightyears from now...

Or actually 'Tug Simulator' there are more of them than any other type of ship!!

I would like to see large vessels such as the Knock Nevis ;D 8)
Knock Nevis isn't a ship anymore, it's a FPSO (storage platform). If I'm correct it has last sailed as Jahre Viking.
Personally I would like to see more containerships. Although it's not a large ship I kinda like the historic container feel of the Horizon Crusader:

I know the ballard, unfortunately I never saw her but I did see plenty of lakers when I served on a bulky taking grain from Superior to Hamburg back in the 70's.
Where would you sail her as the Great Lakes are not currently an "Environment" ?
Now there's a thought, negotiating the Welland canal in early spring, and then Buffalo when the ice backs up and the ice breakers have to come and help out. ;)
Cheers

i think it's nice! ;) :D
-
I would like to see any hydrofoils there, especially Boeing Jetfoil! ;D :P
-
i would like something like an old scooner or something with 3 masts and a bunch of sails like a pirate ship would have,i love sailing and thats a major sailing ship lol
-
Wind does not act directly on ships in this simulator, so there can be no sail-driven ships. Even if that were not the case, the extra animation and controls needed to realistically operate a sail boat would require devoting more resources than it would be worth. Do not expect to see sailing ships in SS 2008. It is not likely that they will be in future versions either.
-
i voted others cause i would like to see some british lifeboats and a small creel boat
-
I'd like MS Sovereign of the Seas / SS American Star / SS United States ... :)
-
http://www.cornwalls.co.uk/photos/data/media/3/rock-padstow-ferry.jpg how about this for padstow
-
I'd like to see some smaller passenger vessels, some icebreakers, more small and big fishing vessels and maybe some research vessels. Whatever may be added in the future, it should be varied. I don't see why we would need a hundred different cruise ships, who all handle the same. I'd like to see a lot of different ships, from different eras and for different uses.
-
50 to 80 feet Trawlers, oceangoing would be great!
Regards
-
Where would you sail her as the Great Lakes are not currently an "Environment" ?
the solent, marseille, NYC, and rotterdam would work if oyu improvised and had a little imagination
Duluth/superior is like marseille, minus the ore docks.
-
Ryerson re-entered service in 06 after an 8 year layup, although she had an early layup this year in november due to the economy, so were not sure if she will be out again next season

(note the stack is stainless steel)
also saw the Frontenac this year

-
Well all nice ships but i want to see this ships!
-
I would like to see a seagoing deck barge, and container barge to go along with the Russian tug. Maybe an ITB tug and barge as well. :)
I work on a 290' anchor handling tug. It would be great if we could actually run anchors from the oil rig. I know that's easier said than done!
Merry Christmas
-
Hi folks,
I am new to the forum but not to ShipSim. I think that it would be great to see some of the old timers, real classic passenger ferries which have almost been forgotten.
For example; Some of the old Thoresen Vikings or the Union Steamship Company's TEV Rangatira.
-
I would love to see more fishing vessels, small and big, from trawlers to liners.
Like this Norwegian 226 feet fishing vessel.
-
yeah I woulld also like to see some fishingvessels like this
-
I'd like to see the Arctic Corsair, an old British museum trawler that is permently moored in Hull now.

i would like to see these ships,

-
It would be amazing, if there was a Polar scenario, to have an ice breaker or two
-
Well, Antartica will be in SS2010 but there's no telling what other vessels we will be getting. Vstep has been secretive on there developments thus far with the exception of the short teaser. But in addition to an icebreaker i'd like to see maybe one or two icebreaking tankers which are capable of breaking through ice without assistance from a vessel dedicated to icebreaking duties.

I voted for tugs and here are my reasons:
Since VSTEP released what kind of ships the SS'08 would get I proposed the integration of tugs with Voith-Schneider or pod/azimot/schottel propulsion. This is interesting and challeging to stear / manouver.
Here are some examples

Am with you Blackbat,
These type of vessels are a good challenge, once a good azimuth controller gets on the market it will be more fun.

An Icebreaker would be good.
Also PDF Charts of each harbor with berth info
1. AIS
2. Intergrated Teamspeak (VHF)
3. COMARPA
4. Some type of Bridge Navigation System
5. Dynamic Positioning if possible
:)

Hi, I chose passenger ships asI think we should have ships like Queen elizabeth 2 or Independence of the seas...
SHdude out! :captain:
-
i would like to see a new ferry or cruise ship like p&o's fleet across form dover to calis and royal caribbeans voyager of the seas and inderpendence of the seas. (for ship simulator 2009 or ship simulator 2010)
-
I would like to see these vessels on ship sim ;D Five of these vessels were built for the shetland island council in 1974 but thay are is only one still in service today and that is the "THORA" and two of the other sisters still remain in shetland but both now converted to workboats, the other two are away from home, one is working in canada named "ISLAND JOINER" and the other one has been converted in to a workboat called "TASK ONE".

A VLCC in Ballast. Or part cargo.
It would be good if there was a facility to make the VLCC model vary in loading condition..
-
I think it would be good to have an incat ship on there = a Big wave piercing catamaran like the Norman Arrow or th Normandie Express !
:captain: I would like one of them because they are amazing and i have benn to the bridge on the Normandie Express ! It was so cool !
Incat,Incat, Incat !!!!

Hi Jake, and welcome, indeed!
I love that shot of the wake, Jake.

Yes very nice shot of the wave and the bridge too :)
-
well, might i make a small suggestion
why not replace the pride of rotterdam with the pride of bilbao seeing as you have portsmouth maybe add her spanish port aswell ;)
and actually allow her to sail into portsmouth continental terminal, instead of letting the pride of rotterdam ground at the entrance, so i suppose you would have to add in the terminals, portsmouth and santurtzi
also mabye some calmac boats :2thumbs:

well, might i make a small suggestion
also mabye some calmac boats :2thumbs:
I agree, we could do with a CalMac ferry in Ship Sim
MV Caledonian Isles, the Arran ferry. She is 94m long, 15.8m width and has capacity for 1000 pax and 110 cars. Top speed is 15 knots.
p.s. My son says he wants to see a 50,000 hp turbo-charged speedboat in Ship Sim! (I think he watches too many 'Top Gear' programme on TV!!)

That looks familiar, is her sister the Isle of Lewis?

The IoL is in Virtual Sailor...
Hi Nathan,
They're not sisters but both of them were built within a few years or each other so in some respects they have similar designs (i.e hull shape, wheelhouse etc).
Caledonian Isles was built in 1993, while Isle of Lewis was introduced 2 years later.
Kev
p.s. I have IoL in VS, very nice! :)
-
MV Oriana....IMO one of the prettiest of the modern breed of cruise ships;
Also one of my faves because a fairly close cousin of mine was commodore ian gibb, who commanded this ship for the first 5 years or so of its service before he retired....I'd love to be able to sail it in shipsim
-
Like i said, best of the modern cruise ships....if we're gonna get into a discussion about liners of a similar ilk to the original oriana, i always preferred the look of the canberra;

Another worthy addition would be the post-war MANXMAN, which is sadly currently languishing in Sunderland, the enthusiasts having managed to fend off the blower's torch...but for how long? >:(

They let's add Baltic Sea
-
I think you should have smaller craft like the formula boat but luxury rather than speed ???
-
As Dover is in ss2010 i think the princess anna or princess margaret should be added.
-
That's a wise suggestion! :2thumbs: Welcome on my side! ;D
-
That would be nice, but from what Frank VSTEP implies, we won't be getting any Dover Ferries...
Hopefully the hoverpad is functional for the Freedom 90 though
-
i found a video about with the hovercrafts on the dover hoverpad

Has up to date shots of Anne and Margaret in the Hovercraft Museum

Sounds better for me because then there could be a room for other type of vessels such as average containerships, tankers, bulkers, floating cranes, salvage & offshore ships, etc. than cruise ships, ferries & Titanic look alikes.

No
Also, I thing you lost something...
I just hope they'll put another hovercraft such as SR.N4 & my wishlist of ships for Dover env. will be done.
Do you know how complicated the SR.N4 are?
-
No

I know who you were... ;D
So come on then, what would be the complications for the SR.N4 (Mk III)
-
I would like a standing jetski so you can do tricks and dive and so on. And a better made hydrojet with more horsepowers and more speed, like 255 hp or something. Maybe it can be as the real Yamaha FZR/ Yamaha FX SHO or Sea Doo RXP-X!
Also I would like a really fast catamaran which can do over 150 knots with help of jetturbines ;D
It would be amazing !!!
-
Only som pictures of things i would like to have in the next shipsim ;D

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeK_aFU0dYQ&feature=PlayList&p=99FEF8FC48E59AF1&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=41
that would be awesome in the next game for sure :D
-
Flybridge yacht, player can select to drive on flybridge or inside the yacht
-
hi guys,
whats the deal with havin the port of Dover in the new ss game but not have any of the ferries in it.
That would render the port as useless as an enviroment if we could only use a small container vessel and a large SNR4 hovercraft for it.
I think it should come with at least 3 ferries that opperate out of the Port of Dover, something like the Pride of canterbury, Seafrance moliere and the Norman arrow. :2thumbs:
-
I'd like some war ships and submarines in the next game.... :)that will make me happy.

"Ferries & Cruise Ships Simulator", along with "Steam Ship Simulator"!

+ separate forums as well.

This would be pretty cool!
I think you all need some action sometimes and SS08 doesn't give you much of that.
This is maybe something to have in the next shipsim:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsPQsDCwmcs
It would be freaking awesome to drive a multiplayerrace sometimes and take a timeout from all these ferrys and stuff. This is the 200mph road to the future! lol :D
-
Maybe I'm biased but I've told quite a few of my captains about this program, if they had a little more variety with the inland and western river towboats and more options such as regulation 200x35' barges that you could individually put together they'd be all for it.
I'd love to see a little fleet tug, mid size line boat (5500-6000hp) and a full size line boat (9000, or triple screw 10,500)
I've got a few examples of the smaller boats at the company I work at.

How about these
-
The two last one had been nice in SSE ;), at least the the cargo ship
-
Also in the category seagoing machines..
Wing in ground
-
Well ship simulator are'nt a flight sim but it's a nise aeroplane, but it are better in flightsim do
-
It's not a aeroplane, this ship uses the wingin ground effects which alows it to hover several metres above the water, it's also mensoined in the collision regulations for ships ;).. so.. ;) half boat half plane :P

In the next simulator, I want to pilot Venice's boat like these
(http://www.accademiaviaggi.it/en/images/vaporetto_actv_photo.jpg)

These are the public transport in Venice.
The company that manage these boats is the ACTV (www.actv.it (http://www.actv.it))
It could be funny if in the new simulator there will be missions in Venice with these boats.
No?
-
They look interesting, especially that top one, that could be a very interesting boat in SSE. :)
-
I want an verry simpel thing an new pilot boat or upgraded dynamics on it.
All pilot boats have rubber ion the sides so the stick to the ship and don't need to hold the exact motor thrust all the time in, SS it's like an colision betven 2 blocks of some matherial that don't get together.
The rubber on the side should grip the ship for exampel vermaas so the bording of the pilot would be easy, in SS (as I said before) you must hold the exact speed.
Maby this should be an own topic but i think the first thing in this post belong to this topic.
-
as a fan of Theodore tugboat when i was little, i think some of them might be fun.
-
Crowley Invader Class

Crowley Alert Class Z-Drive

Crowley Prince William Sound Class: 10,000 hp

What about the Calypso from Jacqeus Coustau?
Or a bouy laying vessel like the Vliestroom?
or some fishingvessels like trawlers and Beamtrawlers?
or tandemfishing with 2vessels towing 1net?
and some rowervessels that more ships to the jetties.
A firedepartmentvessel to put out fires.
and a few topyachts from known manufactures would be cool.
a bayliner or a 60foot superyacht.
would also love to see some locks in the game.
-
I would like a 'standard general cargo shiop' from the 1960ths, e g a Holts A ship. I am totally unable to create one bur if someone is interested I am prepared to 'sponsor' yuour effort.
-
I would like something like this:
I toulk this picture on the River Thames this summer. (sailing to Queensborrow)
YES!
Make it the opal leader please!
-
Since (so I hear) Dover is included (in the same environment as Calais), how about Dover's resident Harbour Board pilot boats and tugs? They have some amazing tugs with features such as jet and bow thrusters, which enable them to do a 360 degree turn on the spot! (I think) And therefore manoevure in a much better way. Also how about P&O's regular visitors, Pride of Kent, Pride of Calais, Pride of Canturbury etc?
-
And further to my post, how about (I know it's SHIP similator not Yacht) some smaller yachts like the ones you can see in most ports? E.g. 30ft? It would make the game much better: I have wanted to be able to virtually skipper a yacht like my dad's in a simulator like this for years, and I think this is the best game it could be in. I suppose it is a BOAT at least  But still, most Yachts at places like Dover have ENGINES, (they have to to be able to get out of the harbour!) so I suppose...... :captain:
-
I would like to have an engined sailing ship
I think that would be very cool...
It's not the best picture but you can see what I mean. This boat doesn't has an engine but you can add it in the shipsim.
-
how about the clebrity cruise summit and galaxy ::)
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/55/GTSSummit.jpg
http://dougnewmanatsea.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/galaxy-8611_ret_rgb.jpg
-
i would like a clemson class destroyer
-
I think it would be fascinating to bring to use the barge visible ports like Hamburg or the Solent.
But it would not hurt to create ocean passenger ships ...
-
i want 3 passanger ships ferry/cruise ship.they
barfleur ,brittany ferrys,cherbourg to poole
QE2
QM2
and any other cunard liners
may be wight link ferry
cross channel hover craft
yorkshire bell
-
i would like to have more ships have accessible engine rooms like the pushboat. is there anyway that can be done
-
i would love to see the hospital ship the us sent to hatai
-
More fishing ships, like trawlers. Or more (seagoing) tugs. I'd also like to see a modern dhow.
-
I would really like to see a great lakes frieghter... Its a vessle used on the great lakes in the U.S. and i think is really under explored in ship sim, There are a truly amazing ship and are great to watch and are loved by boat nerds everywhere, they supply america's mighty steel industry by hauling Iron ore, coal, lime stone, grain, and even cement..... Heres a pic of some: One of the more famous one the arthur m anderson: http://www.boatnerd.com/pictures/fleet/thumb/anderson-water-unload-kcbxchicago-99-gc.jpg (http://www.boatnerd.com/pictures/fleet/thumb/anderson-water-unload-kcbxchicago-99-gc.jpg) and the biggest on one the great lakes: the Paul R. Tregurtha: http://www.boatnerd.com/news/newpictures02/PaulRTregurtha-saltie72502dc-pg.jpg (http://www.boatnerd.com/news/newpictures02/PaulRTregurtha-saltie72502dc-pg.jpg)

Jack
-
How about the SS United States
-
like this one
Jack
That one deserves my vote too!
There's a lack of such kind of ships...
SS is conquered by ferries & tugs, while forum is flooded by Ferrymen & their supporters. :P

::) Hi to all.....
Iam a newbie here but would like to ask a few things.....i create cars in zmodeler & 3dsmax, and was hoping to find someone interested in Class 1 power Cats & P1 powerboats.....then i came across Ship simulator 2008.....has anyone thought of making these boats and if its possible to get them into a mod for ship simulator ?
I have already started a King of Shaves class1 cat... :D
please someone out there.....this doesnt exist in any games and would like a powerboat sim.....to add to the vessels....i love this game hehe
-
Hi! I love powerboats, and here in Plymouth we have one of the world championship races;
Unfortunately, it is very difficult to add ships to Ship Simulator, but there are some modellers who are trying to get ships approved by Vstep, there should be some guidelines in Development Corner somewhere
Others here just model for fun (Me included!) and it would be interesting to see a powerboat
-
well its good to see someone still comes here to this forum....thanx for response m8...iam also a Brit but live in Belgium, iam a big fan of the real class1 cats & Big RC Cats from sweden the Segad,Negotiator,Team Victory,Geco, just to name a few....anyway after modelling cars for GTR2 & Rfactor i found ship sim, and i thought it would be better to do the boats for this sim as its rather large water areas and realistic... but if you say its too difficult ....then i should use another sim ? Why has no one ever thought of a PowerBoat sim....? :'(
-
a couple of pics...
-
Why has no one ever thought of a PowerBoat sim....? :'(
I don't know, but I'd buy one if there was!
Well I love King of Shaves (Now Negotiator) myself, but that's just me. My mother used to work
at Plymouth Dome (now closed down, MASSIVE blunder by Plymouth City Council ) and the view from her office was probably the best view anyone can get, or if not, there was a camera on the roof of the dome and a big observation gallery where you could control it, now THAT was the best view
There are some other simulators, Virtual Sailor (http://www.hangsim.com/vs/) being a popular one, but you could try Rigs Of Rods (http://www.rigsofrods.com) (i'm addicted to this!) but nothing as high quality as Ship Sim, because it's so hard to modify.
Sorry I can't be of a little more help!
-
wow must have been fantastic to see those cats race past from that view.....
well thanx for your help and the link for riggs, not top quality but for an open sauce its outstanding....i think my best bet is to continue the models for Rfactor then if its too hard for Ship Sim.....real shame....a real powerboat sim not just go round in circles on water but doing the real long distance races, it would be a winner, with all the top boats from past to present, not just cats but P1 Vee's & F1 Tunnelhull boats...oh well just dreaming i guess.. if anyone has any news then please drop a message here ...
Thanx
-
Well keep your fingers crossed for Ship Simulator Extremes!
I think for the moment, Virtual Sailor is your best bet.
-
Blackbat, in the next Ship Sim extreames and already in Ship sim08 pro there is a ship that uses VSP props but it is not a tug, it is a minesweaper. sorry its not a tug.
-

I would also love a real powerboat in shipsim, that would be so great!
I hope VSTEP make a powerboat, for example the KIng of Shaves class1 cat for SSE and I think it would make the game sell better, when everyone doesn't like just ferries and tugs. We want something extreme and fast too! ;D
-
i hope this wasnt said before, but i kind of want the Northwestern crab boat on Deadliest Catch on the Discovery Channel.
-
I would like to see some of the INCAT Catamarans (Such as the 112 Metre Natchan Rera). And An Armidale Class Patrol boat with working RHIBs. (Like the one they have in Sea Patrol Series 2 and 3) Also a Stealth boat like this. http://www.chinfo.navy.mil/navpalib/ships/misc/seashadow/seashadow02.jpg

It would also be nice to have a formula 1 boat that you can drive in the bigger ports. For example we had a competition here in Stockholm a couple of years ago and it was very interesting to watch. It's hell of a much action, everything can happen!
I mean:
- 225 km/h on water!
- 400 hp at 10,000 rpm!
- 0 to 160 km/h in 4 seconds!
are pretty dope. Here's a pic...
-
:D
very happy some others have same view about powerboats.....there really should be a sim that is just powerboats, featuring all types there are in one game, should be able to race single player and multi....maybe not the place to send this message ..but the new addon powerboat is availible so its possible, please creators think of this powerboat game idea.....it is loved all over the world, it does'nt exist as a game, aprt from the old arcade games...we need a sim with power and glory.....F1, P1, Class1 powerboats.....heres just a pic of Miss Geico....lovly machine....

Who's up for a Powerboat topic?
I am, please start one!
Colosus, how does it go with your king of shaves? When you're ready with it you can maybe send it to VSTEP, and perhaps they considering put it in the game sometime. I would really like to see your king of shaves too, please upload it here on the forum sometime
-
it will be a couple of weeks before i post a pic, its still early stage just a flat side so far, i will begin the top soon....normaly i will make two types to begin with....the same as miss Geico which is a Mystery C 5000 ...and the other like King of Shaves...with this one i can make other types too...but iam to slow to do it alone...i got kids...and you know try get on the pc to waste so time is hard to find...... :(
i will post a pic when the hole side is complete... :2thumbs:

Would really like various RIB's. Like Zodiac Hurricane, Zodiac Pro, tenders etc.
-
We have at least 1 RHIB, from the trailers. I'm up for a Williams RHIB myself ;) Very fast, very manoeuvrable and very expensive
-
How aboat some inland cargo vessels? :)
thom

geez, no comments on Wyre Vanguard? ??? ;D it's a geat and cool ship!!
:2thumbs:

Hi Eble guy
I sailed in Wyre Vanguard on sevaral occasions over the years also
Wyre Defence/Wyre conqueror/wyre majestic(lost jura sound)wyre gleaner/Wyre corsair
Wyre victory (lost on mills reef 1974 jan) 3hours in liferaft force 8 gale sister ship wyre conq picked us up took us to oban in scotland

Yeah, that's a nice one, but I would prefer a roughneck 808 with a 350 Mercury Verado or Cougar R8 with the same engine. The verado-series is by the way so sick, just listen to this turbocharger, so silent!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riMxZd7Qsys
Just wonder, why does many say RHIB, I've only heard RIB before (Rigid Inflatable Boat), so what stands the H for, Hydro?
-
;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rigid-hulled_inflatable_boat
-
Okay, but I prefer just RIB. Looks more clean ;)
-
Oh my gosh,!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I could go on the wyre vanguard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D most likely never will though :'(
-
Hi NorthStar-Eble guy
Sorry to break the news but all the fleet was scrapped years ago when decommisioning for
trawler was brought in so wyre trawlers finished in the 1980s.
Eric
-
I guess I really never will then, darn then! :'(
Still have the VS 7 version of them! :D
-
;D

There are already so many different kinds of vessel in Ship Sim, the only thing that seems to be missing are dredgers, some of these could make interesting missions also, either a maintenance dredger dredging a channel / harbour or a gravel dredger dredging for sand and gravel and then taking it to port for discharge.
Boskalis Queen of the Netherlands would make a good large dredger, or UKD's Marlin would be a nice smaller one.
The other thing which is missing is a good freight RO-RO, Stena Traveller / Trader are nice, or one of the Flensburg ships.
-
A paddle steamer, like Skibladner on the lake of Mjøsa, Norway.
Airboats, like they use in swamps.
Smaller cargo boats, old and modern.
Smaller yachts for vacation/ weekend trips, accomodated with kitchen, beds, toilet etc.
Military ships, like fast coast guard boats, MTB's and sofort.

Shame there's so much more to do than the visual model :( We'd have Drag boats by now :(
Very nice model though
EDIT: apologies to Wilmutt for not answering his question about the H in RHIB. And that is a nice engine  Found a boat with three of the things... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pUOfC5qxl4&feature=related)
Have you seen my RHIB project?

Yes, of course. The verados is nothing compared with these turbine engines, but for "normal" people it's a nice engine. Mostly because it's fast to be in its class and is so quiet, you can't almost hear it : ;)
-
No, I haven't. What is it for kind of project?
My First Project - RHIB (http://80.95.161.114/shipsim/forum/index.php/topic,16808.0.html)
it's not brilliant, but worth a look

it's not brilliant, but worth a look
Yes, it was good. It was worth a look anyway ;D
-
I would like to see one of those long river cruise boats that are used by Uniworld and the like on the Rhone or Rhine. 110 m long, 10 m wide, just barely able to fit the Rhone locks. Like threading needles. And of course then we will need locks to go with them!!
-
Perhaps some sort of hydrographic survey or oceanographic research vessel, although that is not particularly specific and could almost be anything. An icebreaker could also be interesting, as others have suggested.
-
I like to see offshore windfarms and special vessel
That would be good too. In time I'm sure we'll see many of these things developed by the community; I'll have to start brushing up on gmax again.... :)
-
i would like to see more passenger ships
-
maybe some smaller passenger ships would be nice
but i would like some different ships also may be cool like cable layers or car transporters ( RoRo )
But ofcourse we have a nice selection of ships already ;D

-
Well, soon, all (OK, most) will be revealed with the SSE website!

Can't wait ;D

Hello,
Damen Fast Ferry Soflusa (Port of Lisbon):
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_f1OZb7DL07k/RwoqmYOe2tI/AAAAAAAACtw/9iUgR_Y1S0c/s1600-h/2007-10-05+097.jpg
I can get the sole of the boat because my father is part of the company, I expect production to contact me to give up power plants, detailed photos, and details of the propulsion system. It was with great pleasure that I liked to see this boat in future ship simulator.
Transtejo Fast Ferry (Port of Lisbon)

Do the words preceding the same as now, the two companies are together, also have access to all details.
Svitzer tugs (Port of Lisbon)
http://ipt.olhares.com/data/big/121/1214423.jpg (ASD TUG) - SVITZER LISBOA
http://images.vesseltracker.com/images/vessels/midres/Svitzer-Leixoes-291137.jpg (ASD TUG) - SVITZER LEIXÕES
I can also arrange all the details easily if they are interested in making some of the Svitzer tug operating in Portugal, only exist in Lisbon.
So long I expect to be contacted in order to make my contribution and can also see these boats in the game.
A hug for all participants and especially for production.
I certainly hope that this reply is answered by someone from production.
-
RJ4 and Bugsier anyone?
Sorry, but these ships are very similar to some of the ships in the game. Vstep isn't going to be modelling variations on the vessels they already have, They're going to look for completely new types of vessels.
-
Then how about research vessels like this :

Wakataka-maru
or this:

A croatian small passenger ship called: VIS
-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQHR1h-MQR0
something like that would be nice in the game
-
An IoMSPCo ferry would be great, such as the, Ben-My-Chree 6, Lady Of Mann 2, Mona's Queen 5 (LOM 2 sister), Manxman 2, Manx Maid 2 (IoMSPCs first ever car ferry) or one of my favourites, KING ORRY 5. Also agree we should have a REAL fast ferry, how about MANANNAN, SNAEFELL 6, SEACAT RAPIDE, VIKING 2 or SUPERSEACAT ONE. All great ferries. See Pics below!
-
What kind of vessels would you like for Ship Simulator?
I would love to see an old cargo ship of my own era at sea. ie:- an old three islander steam trampship, or a `liberty ship`, or a `park class` tramp, or a tanker of the `ohio` class [T2 I think ?] These types of ship were REAL ships, which I think would be greatly appreciated by a lot of ex seafarers, [unlike your modern and characterless floating tower blocks and monstrosities].
Regards.
Ken sherrocks.

Hello all!
So here i'l post some of my suggestions about vessel what are needed, and what would be great to see them in "The Shipyard" or some "add-on"!
For the first i'l post some vessel what i would like to see and what have the BIG chance to get there for real!
So let's go!
1: DVO ( Dominique Vaccaro's design ):
Mega Yacht "Ocarina":
Name: Ocarina
Lenght: 296 ft
Model: DVO Marine Design: http://www.dvomarinedesign.com/262-intro.htm
INFO: These 262 ft Mega Yacht are you probably know, it was mentioned several times in the ShipSim magazine, and it get some great compliments, Mr. Vaccaro created these master piece, and it's one of the best models, with great features.
Why these yacht should be in "The Shipyard"/ "Add-On": The reason is easy, Ship Simulator don't have any Mega Yacht, and it is really needed, the yacht from Ship Simulator 2006 was the best vessel, and i'm sure a lot of players misses it, so these yacht would be the great replace, because they are in the same class.
Pictures:
(http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/5528/34avhautb.jpg) (http://img843.imageshack.us/i/34avhautb.jpg/)

(http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/5527/night7.jpg) (http://img203.imageshack.us/i/night7.jpg/)
For all the informations, a lot more pictures, interior photos and virtual tour you can see on the Mr. Vaccaro's web page:
http://www.dvomarinedesign.com/262-intro.htm
Exploration Yacht "Sacha"
Name: Sacha
Lenght: Unknown
Model: http://80.95.161.114/shipsim/forum/index.php/topic,18493.0.html
INFO: These is another briliatn idea from Dominique Vaccaro, the exploration yacht is something new, something intersting and realy great. Mr. Vaccaro is working on these model for some time, and all the results he is showing to us here on the forum, he is making these yacht especialy for Ship Simulator so i know it have some big chance to be in the game!
Why should it be in "The Shipyard"/ "Add-On": It should be because these is something really new, something intersting and very, very nice, model is great and a lot of members like these model and would love to sail it.

2: Mr. Robvile's design:
Mega Ocean Liner "M/V Oceana"
Name: m/v Oceana
Lenght: Large
Model: http://80.95.161.114/shipsim/forum/index.php/topic,11705.0.html
INFO: These ocean liner is the great model of mr. robvile, he is shoving us these model here on the forum, and he is making it for Ship Simulator, so it have some chances to get into the game.
Why it should be in "The Shipyard"/ "Add-On": It should be because Mr. Robvile is doing hard work just for Ship Simulator, he is making a real great model of an huge, modern, wonderful ocean liner wich is needed into Ship Simulator, also there are some words that Titanic is out, so one more ocean liner wouldn't be a problem.

3: Suggestions from Ship Simulator:
Mega Yacht Blue from Ship Simulator 2006
Name: / ( Blue )
Lenght: About 81 meters
Model: From Ship Simulator 2006
INFO: The mega yacht from Ship Simulator 2006 was my favorite vessel in the ShipSim games, the wonderful sky/blue colors, a perfect size, a wonderful sunny decks, and luxury bridge, these vessel was just perfect!
Why should it be in "The Shipyard"/ "Add-On": It should be because it was the best vessels in all series of the game, a lot of peoples told that these vessel is missing and that would be the greatest thing to sail it again, so i think that vessel needs to get back in the series. YES! YOU CAN SEE THAT THESE YACHT IS ON ALL OF THE SHIP SIMULATOR 2006 BOXES, VSTEP WAS PROUD WITH THESE YACHT, WHY NOT TO BE PROUD AGAIN FOR THE GOOD OLD TIMES??

Lenght: 91 m
Model: No models.
INFO: The yacht had been given to the Lex Luthor the great brean and rich charachter in the movie Superman Returns. The yacht had a history too but i din't find it out to the end.

In contradiction to other players who only say i want this, this and this in the game, Capt Mitch actually puts efford in his idea and trying to convince the Dev's ;)
-
I think we need to put a 56K warning on Captain Mitch.
??
Why??
i agree with captain mitch....i do think we need yachts(Mega yachts)
I still find it too dissapointing that VSTEP Wont put the mega yacht from SS06 back in SSE :(
I agree....
Cruise ships and yachts where you responsible for 200 too 300 lives...
and not 21 or 30 aboard and oversized heavy lift, container, tanker, bulk carrier ship
And not because only VSTEP ones SS meanes they can do with it what they want!
Now ill talk like my father " If you too make games players and simulator fans happy.. Fill out there wish one by one and dont add something you think is good and the what the players dont want..
flightsim adds all flying things from the first too last flying machine in the future in fs.
Why cant shipsim ???
You cannot call it a sim if its missing more the 5 types of ships or planes.."
The vessels that captain mitch suggested are strongly needed for SS.
1 cruise ship and no mega yacht? no....3 cruise ships and 1 mega yacht..yes.
PS!!
Captain mitch how could take my home ship away from me? ::)
Kind regards

The Blue Marlin (IMO: 9186338, Port of Registry: Willemstad, Dutch Antilles) is a semi-submersible heavy transport vessel managed by Dockwise Shipping and built in 2000 by China Shipbuilding. She was designed to transport very large semi-submersible drilling rigs. She is equipped with 38 cabins to accomodate 60 people, a workout room, sauna and swimming facilities. She has a deadweight capacity of 76,000 tons, an unobstructed deck area of 11,227 m2 (63 m x 178,2 m). The vessel has a maximum speed of 13.3 kts in ballast condition, which is capable due to the three Wartsila diesels which deliver a capacity of 3850 kW each. For better manoeuvring with heavy cargo and in rough weather conditions the Blue Marlin is equipped with two retractable Azimuth thrusters of 4500 kW.
In January 2007, the Blue Marlin was employed to move two jack-up rigs, the Rowan Gorilla VI and the GlobalSantaFe Galaxy II, from Halifax Harbour to the North Sea. The Blue Marlin has arrived this morning at the Calandkanaal, Rotterdam

I would like to see in SSE some ferries from Stena Line. Stena Vision, Stena Hollandica or Stena Baltica or some else but from Stena Line :) of course mighty Titanic and Queen Mary 2 :)
-
I too am interested in tall ships, and I'm not interested in modern vessels at all. To avoid the problems you mention, perhaps you could develop a seperate program for them. I wouldn't expect precise handling.

That would make a nice ship for SSE

yes thats a lovely ship there
-
It would be awesome to have some naval ships like hms manchester or other vessels

Ship Simulator should really become like Flight Simulator. If this ever happens I would like to have Zeebrugge and Hull as ports and a part of the river Humber. Besides this you should be able to do the entire crossing on auto pilot like in FS but one can only dream of such a game :-\.
Anyway, I would like to see the following ferries.

Something in naval ships, like aircraft carriers, battleships, etc. And Something in sailing ships, like frigates, schooners, galleons, etc. As far as cargo, an "Edmund Fitzgerald" would be nice.
-
One of the Royal Caribbean megaships would be really cool with wing controls and a wheel to control the azipods and all the rest.(Voyager of the seas,Independence of the seas,Oasis of the seas etc.)
-
Ferry with Bow Visor
All the major Caledonian MacBrayne vessels have them.
they would be hard to create though, and would require additional controls

:) Hi Folks, I have to say that I voted for more cargo ships, preferably of the "oldey worldey" steam reciprocating "tramp" variety, the kind which invariably carried several passengers. However, I would also favour traditional "three island" tankers too!
Some of the chaps in Canada favoured vessels from the Great Lakes region. I have to agree that there is something about the look of the traditional lakers, with the bridge right up forward, the machinery house back aft, and nothing but the cargo holds between.
Fair winds and tides to you all!

still, it would be nice to have a Calmac ferry (along with a scottish location :) )
i cannot help being patriotic

i agree entirely, although i would also like to see Oban in aswell. Oban has lots of little islands surrounding it such as mull, lismore, tiree, coll.

Aside from her sister ships the Olympic and Britannic, here are the list of ships I want, all of whom share a connection or alibi with the Titanic.
Ships present at Southhampton:
SS City of New York
Vulcan (tugboat)
Hector (tugboat)
Neptune (tugboat)
George Bowyer (harbor pilot)
Ships present at Cherbourg:
SS Nomandic (tender)
SS Traffic (tender)
Ships present at Queenstown:
SS Ireland (tender)
SS America (tender)
Ice warning ships:
SS La Touraine
SS Rappahannock
RMS Caronia
SS Noordam
RMS Baltic (1903)
SS Amerika
SS Californian (also rescue ship)
SS Mesaba
Rescue ships:
RMS Carpathia
SS Californian (also ice warning ship)
SS Mt. Temple
SS Parisian
SS Birma
SS Frankfurt
Aftermath:
CS Mackay-Bennett
Ambrose lightship and harbor pilot (circa 1912)
SS Lapland (carried Titanic's surviving crew)
Akademik Mstislav Keldysh (post-sinking)
-
hi all would like to see more fast ferries or more cargo ships
-
SS Nomandic (tender)
Not sure if you know, but the Nomadic is presently in Belfast where she (along with some other ship, whose name I can't remember) was built.
Not sure how far on her restoration is, or if she is open to the public yet, but she is planned to be the centrepiece of the city's new Titanic quarter which will be situated around the dock where Titanic was built. For a long time Belfast was one of the few cities left in the world which did not have some kind of Titanic museum, which has always seemed a little ironic to me.
Although when you think about it, she was hardly one of Harland and Wolffe's success stories, maybe the city thought that if they kept their mouths shut then eventually all the fusss would die down and everyone would forget all about the damned thing.

how about super trawlers

How about a Marmite class cruise ferry?

would lover to see a lobster boat or a crab boat on here of a scolloper with working winches

I voted other. Have not looked through for a while, but Sea Shepherd ships (Steve Irwin, Bob Barker, Ady Gil, and Gojira) with original and current paint schemes would be cool. Also, more fishing vessels, like those in Deadliest Catch, would be interesting.
-
oh, another ship type I'd like to see would possibly be military naval vessels... aircraft carriers, battleships, cruisers, etc.

Not unlike the "St. Essylt", South American Saint Line, 1948. London registered.

It's a shame that no-one builds beautiful ships anymore, but I guess square boxes are cheap and as anyone with any connection to the modern shipping industry knows, cheaper is better, always, without exception, ever.
-
I like old dutch tugboats in the game and (bayliner) speedboats. :P :P and may also a few dutch sloops.. :P
BTW. Vstep is an Dutch company it's may a good idea to add a lot more ''Dutch stuff''....
-
VStep is a Dutch company, but I think they are trying to make the game appeal to a worldwide audience.
I agree about the old dutch sloops though, some of those were truly beautiful.

I like dutch sloops very well, because they are low-no bridges strubbling, and easy to move and economical in fuel. :P :P

Hi all ;D
What ever happened with the RNLI vessel pack add-on which was spoken about ages ago, I did a search and found some details, but they seem to have stopped and woundered why?
I was wondering also, if there was a problem, have you concidered the Independent Lifeboats in the UK?
There are 63 in total dotted about, 9 are in the Solent Waters, these 9 carry out more tasks than their counter parts on a year to year basis and would be willing to help I am sure.
Take our Lifeboat for an example (Pictured below), its an ex-RNLI Atlantic 21 Inshore Lifeboat, we brought the vessel, so the vessel legaly is ours to do as we wish, weather thats allow permission for it to be turned into a modle, making sure everything the model has it down to the fine details that you see in the photo below (no RNLI reference at all), or to follow suit and say no to a model being made of it.
Now, if someone wants to make a model of our (SSILB) Atlantic 21, I am sure I can help out, as I have spent the last 2 years rebuilding her from scratch and can give all the details that will be needed to the correct person to make the model.
All we would ask is, that a small donation is given for downloading the Lifeboat towards our Independent Lifeboat service as a thanks before downloading the add-on.
Again, to make it very clear, this Lifeboat is owned by Sandown & Shanklin Independent Lifeboat and can be 100% that we would allow for a model to be made with an agreement in place.
We could even give refence of taskings for use in add-on missions if needed - but would have to change some details, which am sure you would understand, like vessel names etc.
Anyway, is an idea / offer if the right person wants to take the oppertunity.
Let me know via PM.

I voted for passenger vessel because I find that there are not enough cruise ships. The only one is the Orient Star and with the add-on there will be the MS Oceana. But there should also be some smaller cruise ships like the Azamara Journey! They can dock almost everywhere. :2thumbs:

I hate those kids or people who know nothing about the maritime world who are voting for pasenger vessels ,i want profesional vessels , like more container vessels , maybe an aircraft carrier , i would also really want a new dlc with steam engined ships , with the posibility to look into the engine room and also controle it a bit . Cus just there are alot of engine room engineers or people like me that study for it
Also i would really like that they put some new harbors , like Antwerp and hong kong , 2 great harbors especialy antwerp , just try to make some realsim in this game
another sugestion is making ropes expendable , as well for the tugs as for the other ships , it would be easy to handle , and increases the realsim pretty mutch
So stop voting for those sh*tty passenger vessels and vote for real stuff

Take a breath and calm down.
There is no need to insult a group of people merely because they share an interest. How would you like it if someone talked rubbish about your fascination for "professional" container vessels. (as if passenger liners are owned by private amateur parties)
We all have our own interest in a particular kind of ship here on the forum, and it's fine to share it. But your arrogant remark towards kids and those that like passenger ships is downright rude.

i would also really want a new dlc with steam engined ships , with the posibility to look into the engine room and also controle it a bit . Cus just there are alot of engine room engineers or people like me that study for it
Also i would really like that they put some new harbors , like Antwerp and hong kong , 2 great harbors
I have to agree on these points, especially with the engine room accessibility. Hercules Atlas had roam-able engine rooms in SS08, would it be difficult to add to Extremes? Maybe also walkthrough access to the cargo deck/forcastle deck of Jumbo Javelin?
